Honest truth

How is the culture in this company? Are the goals realistic?
Im interviewing

It's pretty bad. In the past year they've gone all in on big pharma metrics. It wouldn't be so terrible if they'd just leave you alone, but they don't. They call and text all the time repeating the cliches of the dude in charge who doesn't have answers.

If you need a job, take it. But start looking right away.

I’ve heard that the only way to get promoted and ahead is not by merit but how much you’re liked and if you’re part of the “inner”
circle? The person recently promoted has been on bottom of the performance rankings , has no previous vaccine experience, has been with the company less than a year?

recruiter told me the position was on hold at the moment. What is really going on with the company? I’m hesitant to pursue this.

This is what Dynavax calls a "pivot". They pivot every 4-6 months when whatever they threw at the wall didn't work. Then they gaslight you to believe that it's all normal, then they pivot again. Remember the last time they pivoted, the new hire was instantly first in the country and won the trip while being here 6 months. Same thing going on right now.

used to be a pharmacist on the east coast somewhere. took job here as ram and moved to chi. was ranked bottom in the nation. got promoted to manager during the last restructure in july. got promoted again to director after 6 months. think he's lost 4 people since taking over and more leaving soon.

Most of the “leaders” are pharmacists with zero prior leadership or Pharma experience. This is the absolute worst company to work for.

The VS leaders are forcing the reps to speak off-label to get sales. Getting kicked out of an office is considered a success. They force us to introduce ourselves as CDC employees. I am embarrassed to walk into an office with my manager. She is so rude and arrogant towards the staff and in reality she has never been successful at selling anything. I have been here for a long time and she got promoted because she could not sell a thing but her boss from gsk brought her over and they had to keep her. This company will get in legal trouble soon. I heard a lawsuit is in discussion with several reps from different parts of the country.

sounds like she shouldn’t be in leadership position
Report her to HR . There’s people that want this company to succeed and want to have the mess and culture cleaned up asap if it’s salvageable

Proof that rubbing elbows and being in the inner circle is all that matters -
Make account managers to VS to make them
Feel demoted then pay them less promote new hire and people with no track record so they feel like it’s a dead end road raise they goals so it’s unattainable - until you feel hopeless frustrated suffocated by the toxic culture then you leave that’s what they want an endless hamster wheel

increasing employee turnover and decreasing morale makes for a dumpster fire
