Honest about tenure and pay

You can probably find this kind of info at a website called medreps.com

As you will soon see that posts to this thread will be filled with a bunch of SmartA$$ comments from current & former reps who want to just vent rather than actually saying something intellectual.

Wow.......I just learned I am grossly underpaid!

Well it's not like we know who you are so if you going to respond then tells us your circumstances.......

Years, current salary & band level ?

This way we can lift another veil of secrecy that Mother Merck try's to keep from us; the giant disparagement in the salaries it pays from one rep to another.

Which is contrary to their everlovin line of BS that they "pay for performance"

The longer you stay with a company, the greater the chances are that you be underpaid. Jump every 3 to 5 years to snag more money. Once you make a decent salary and have some clout, get with a stable company and coast. I am not

I don't care if people know, MercK doesn't want anyone to know.
I was hired into Merck 10 years into career, started at 110k. Now at 121k, several years later.
All veteran reps thought I was paid more as they gave outsiders more than legacy reps (I thought
It was wrong). No longer with Merck. Happy now. Sorry for those living through this.

It's funny how no one knows who is posting what and people are still scared to say what they make.
No one is judging u as we don't know you.
It just shows how corporate America treats
Share, they don't care about you.

Life Merck rep, several sales awards, specialty rep, still on board $102 000.
I knew they were under paying me compared to new people. Still happy to have made good money and paid off house and all bills. Thank you Merck.

Amazing...another lowly rep with plenty more years in and making well under 100K!! What is going on with all the big variations in pay?

Does demographics have anything to do with paycheck? Given that you might have the same number of awards, degrees, resume contents. What determines your income?

I am not in sales but in WHS in a finance analyst role - not a manager. Been with Merck for just over 10 years and have a grad degree (mother paid for). Base: $118k, 9% or so bonus target.

Even though it seems sales don't 'work' much, there's no way I could do under $100k and I'm pretty sure most, if not all, in our group are in six figure territory. Our admin has been with the company for more than 20 years and is in the high 80s - I was helping her do some retirement planning.

I think.most of you are complaining for the wrong reason. What crap pay!

No advanced degree, 18 years in pharma, 6 merck, oncology rep 140 000 base. I don't feel under paid. They hired some new people into oncology and at least 2 of them over 160k. They both have over 10 years onc experience.

Number of years in specialty and when they came to Merck. They paid to attract people for a little while.

In PC, with Oncology experience. Way, way, way, way, way under that quote and under 100K too. Just short of 15. With bonus, that yearly income is almost double many plain ol' pc and specialty reps.
