Hiring Freeze, Layoffs?

So we now have numerous vacant positions around our region. Asked my TBM, they say we can't fill them right now, and haven't been able to fill them for several months. What's going on? You don't leave things vacant for months unless something is happening in the future? I guess maybe it's not a bad thing because less people would get laid off. Feel like the rumors are going around like crazy. People know something is coming, but what is it. Any clues or insights out there?

The overlays are getting let go so they want to see what positions there are left after sales force expansions so they can slot them into those jobs and let Ashfield and BI overlay go. Smaller bases, more accountability, but there goes agility.

Too many rumors and no real info. Don't see overlays getting any better treatment. With the rumors start the B.S. train. Everyone seems to think something is happening sometime soon, company should be open about it and let us know what's up. What will be, will be. Just give us some idea what the direction is. Will be better for everyone, including the company.

My manager today alluded to something happening after q1 and stressing the importance of “crossing all the “t”s and dotting all the “i”s”. Definitely seemed like something was up

Your manager’s insight of crossing t’s and dotting i’s are probably accurate.
They are looking at all possible avenues that may increase efficiency. He may Be eluding to the force ranks and motivational fitness evaluations coming soon. Basically a big circle jerk amongst TBMs

Managers know very little because they are just as at risk as we are. They'l find out the day before we do. There is some change coming. You can almost feel it like the day leading up to a blizzard. We just have to wait and see what it is.

DMs never know more than a day before everyone else. But yes, something is coming. Company should address it. We all know something is in the air. Productivity goes down. Rumor mill runs wild. Just address it. No point in hiding it.

Typical BI.

Wait months to make a move...In the meantime many are not working or not focused. The question is where they working before or where they effective.

Make the move and move on!!!!

Yes, typical BI. Look back on how leadership rolled out "go to market" in 2016. It was announced in Feb, and reps either got cut or placed in June. Between that time, many good people left. I believe they count on attrition so they don't have to pay a severance to those who find other jobs.

Yes it was like that in 2016, in speaking with BI persons, everyone is thinking sales force changes are coming, the smart ones start looking and time it so they can collect the severance and then move on, make sure you read all of the severance Information and don’t screw up any dates and pay attention, And don’t tell others what you are doing because if management finds out then they can action you out and no money. Sorry you may have to go thru it but their is life outside of BI and is it better now or when Pradaxa goes and the competition is brutal in Diabetes and Resp and high rebates so they will cut in 2020 again and the money may not be as good
