Why are you unemployed if you have so much experience in sales (including pharma)? Maybe entry level is where you need to start with a good company. This way you can learn how to sell and close doctors the right way-- not have to worry about how long the unemployment line is. (just saying)
 






Poster didn't say they were unemployed...could be looking for another job or re-entering work force. OR could be like a lot of us who are looking for other jobs. Get real!
 






exactly.....it just goes to show you the brainwashing that they give you at hawthorn. "you must stay or you will get laid off" its all propaganda crap to attempt to reduce turnover there. which obviously hasnt worked. ALL of the sales reps of the year leave the company.... the last 5 to be exact.....and im sure they knew how to "close a doctor the real way". you are a preschool clown with a preschool company that cant even get a 60 year old drug (HC) out of the FDA. they have to go sell codiene because it doesnt require FDA approval and can be sold as a DESI drug. everyone that leaves there gets a FREE car, FREE gas, cheap benefits, stock and a base more than what you will make there total.....and keep in mind that you still have to subtract all of your expenses and car insurance cell phone, storage unit etc out of your chump change. i mean come on....is KR still having to pull 2 jobs moonlighting as a nurse to support her family?
so before you jump on someone not wanting to make a huge mistake, look at it like they may just be smarter than you :)

Smarter? Be thankful you have a job! Several professionals are unemployed and can't find work anywhere at all. We may not be getting rich but we have a check coming every two weeks to put food on the table and it keeps the lights on at home- not unemployed charging up credit cards or wondering how we are going to feed our kids. Last 5 sales rep of the year left because they decided to move forward with their lives and use the company as a stepping stone. Stepped forward into great jobs because Hawthorn prepared them to sell anything- DESI drugs, Codiene, and anything else they put out there to SELL. Shit they could sell ice to an Eskimo-- not bitch because they had products that move. No one forces anyone to work here and if they are not happy with their situation-- they can do something about it or suck it up and roll up their sleeves! Everyone knows about the expenses when they get hired. It's not a huge secret. If you weren't satisfied with the terms why take the job? By the way, one of the top reps came back because they realized the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
 


















I am so happy I did not go work for this company. Turned out best for me because I got an offer today from a BIG pharma co w/ over twice the base, a company car plus gas card, real benefits and real products.

I had never heard of Hawthorn and had not been on Cafe Pharma in forever... I was shocked to find out what employees (past and present) were saying about this company. After I saw some of the information, I called some peds docs that I know as well as other pharma reps. The ones that had even heard of this joke of a company said - don't do it! I'll hire you as an assistant before I'll let you go work for that company. One doc told me that his old rep was EXTREMELY suggestive with him, rubbing his leg, touching his arm.. just real unprofessional.

What got me about this company is how unprofessional they were. Despite my follow-up, they couldn't even be bothered to respond back after the 2nd interview. And their attrition rate is overboard! And who has people from their training department conducting the interviews? The last company I was with that was missing a DM at least had the RM come in for the interview - not the training department. Weird! I guess my only disappointed is never meeting Max to see if he is truly as ridiculous as everyone has made him out to be.
 






Be glad you didn't get the job. This company is a joke. I have called CS and LM several times over the last few months, always get vm and NEVER had either of them call me back, even when I asked for follow up. NEVER! So much for "open door policy and we are here for you". I have never worked for a company like this. I am currently looking and hope to find something soon.
 






Best wishes in your hunt for a new job. Although there are many things that I hate about hawthorn, my two years there paid off in finding a better opportunity. I worked my butt off and had some real success ... but I also realized that there is only so much success you can have here and it is pretty limited. I said I worke dmy butt off, come to think of it I didn't work as hard as CS wanted me to - when he announced that getting out and making calls on Saturdays would really pay off and highly encouraged I said screw that.
 












Yes its that bad that experienced reps will actually consider a job with this shit company. Get off your high horse preaching about learning how to sell and close a doctor the right way. They won't hire anyone with experience b/c they made 4x what you make and will leave asap unlike an idiot like you who actually thinks this is a real company.

still the same bitter jerk-off aren't you. keep posting negative crap b/c you weren't worth a damn when you were here and you still ain't worth a damn where you work- you have to check out whats going on with our pathetic company. Who truly is the pathetic one? Like following up with an ex-girlfriend that you can't get over-- loser. Move on with your life get over it-- you were a two bit no good worthless rep that was fired! let us be happy with our idiodic miserable life and fuck off. You must be equally as miserable because you don't have anything better to do than to check up on us through a blog. Last I checked--- We all get our hard earned checks drafted in our account every two weeks (good or bad)-- I call that real
 
























and it should really speak volumes to how bad it is when people like DG and JA leave. they made decent money with good coverage but they hated the way they were treated. and AC didnt help matters either.
