How old are you? You seem to be doing well

ah come on. you're full of shit. The average american retires with maybe a $200k net worth, not to include the home they live in. Check the actual stats. The actual stats show that the average american HOME INCLUDED at retirement (65) has a net worth of maybe $200k. Probably even less now after the economic implosion. Many retire with even less. A whole shitload of americans are living on nothing but social security. You need to get out more and understand how the real world works. BTW, I'm trying to plan it so I use up all my savings and retirement at age 75 and then let the gobblement take care of me. Based on my health and family history I don't think I'll reach 80. I'm going to let you fuckers take care of me for my last 3-5 years as I've taken care of so many of your relatives. My dad taught me to 'die broke'. Probably the smartest advice I've ever received.

This guy gets it.

This guy gets it.

How do you figure? This guys is way off. You are using “average Americans” as the litmus, but there is not one pharmaceutical sales rep making an “average income”. Most drug reps W2 between $80K to $175K which is double and triple the national average income so it should come as no surprise that drug reps have a higher than average net worth and a higher than average retirement fund.

Not sure why you think this guy “get’s it”?

Show me a drug rep making $175 and I'll film my wife blowing you.

Reread his entire post....he gets it....you don't.

Here is a list of just a few of the major specialties where reps routinely W2 @ $175K

Oncology
HIV
MS
Fertility
ID

That’s not including the micro niche biotech’s for things like PK, etc.

Even if you want to bell curve it, the middle of the bell would be @$100K a year which is still double the national average.

I hope your wife is hot and knows what she’s doing. Just let me know where and when.

You can google your ass off all day long....and you won't find even one source showing that reps make 175K per year...specialty or otherwise.

So...you lose. I'll take your wife or sister for the evening....although tongue fucking my asshole is part of the package.

R u some sample jockey? Plenty of reps make that kind of money. There is not one rep at Gilead who makes less than $175k a year. And the other poster is right about oncology. We bought an oncology company and our PC DM's were pissed that the Onc reps were making $40k a year more! If u don't know this you are an idiot.

Link it clown. You are full of shit.

Link what sample monkey? Are you serious? What on bootleg sites like MedReps and Healthcareps and Medzilla? Haha! You are dumber than I initially thought! You think the good jobs are posted on those sites? Most if not all of those “listings” are fake and placed by recruiters to get resumes. The good jobs, junior, are not posted on web pages they are referral based or through a recruiter who specializes in a certain TA like oncology or HIV.

You really don’t believe that oncology reps make that kind of money? You are very green. Call an oncology recruiter and ask what the average base and bonus is for a oncology rep with 5-10 years of oncology experience. I’ve been an oncology DM for 12 years and we do not have one rep who is based less than $177K and our bonus plan is $13,500 per quarter at plan. It is very common. I have reps with 20 years of experience who are based in the $140’s. S

You are, without a doubt, a big pharma, primary care, sample monkey!

Unconscious incompetence…you don’t know what you don’t know.

I meant to type based less than $117K not $177K. Our base salary range is $115K to $135K.

33 y/o
married 10 years
wife worked first 2, at home last 8
210K IRA (retirement)
75K 401K (retirement)
40K 529's (college)
35K mutual funds (retirement)
33K savings (emergency)

No debt, other than 225K mortgage. Paid off 40K in student loans in past 5 years, 30K car loan, finished basement for 30K cash. Trying to have house paid off in 5 years. I hate debt. I want to be free!

We live pretty simply, have it nice, but not crazy nice. I don't want to feel like I am forced to stay in this industry just because of the money if I someday wake up and wanna do something else. I've had 5 years in a row over 200K, never more than 225K. Taxes are the killer. Brutal! I'm a big Dave Ramsey fan, hence my disgust for debt. If you are tried of having debt, read his book "Total Money Makeover". You will be so glad you did.

Listen up annonymous cunt....post a link where drug reps....any drug rep makes 175K. Until you do....you lose...vershtay?

Secondly....nothing is as vile and disgusting as oncology reps.....nothing.

It is true that that field has reps that make more than than others....and my question is....why?

And don't you dare tell me it has to do with "the knowledge" these reps bring. They don't bring shit to the physicians....NOTHING...especially in today's world of the internet.

And they're making 6 figures? What a joke.

They aren't worth 50K per annum....not one of them. Just another waste of money in an industry that is government protected through "deals" with the insurance companies and the industry en masse.

When it comes to treating cancer patients, whippin out your fuggin glossy and beggin an oncologist to try "my poison" on the next 5 patients ...is lower than whaleshit...and the docs don't do medicine that way....but prescribe based on clinical proof....and nothing else.
