GSK is not pursuing the mandate under OSHA,
they are doing it under the Executive Order for federal employees and federal contractors- based on the fact that they have government contracts in place. That mandate took effect this week and impacted military, border patrol, CDC, etc. Many in the military simply retired.
Congress is exempt.
I was fired by GSK for refusing to get vaccinated. I chose not to pursue an exemption because in my view that legitimizes the mandate, i.e., forced medical treatment. The only other forced medical treatment I am aware of is lethal injection for the death penalty.
The EO does not provide periodic testing as an alternative option to vaccination unless you have an approved exemption.
In the case of GSK, exemptions can be revoked by GSK at any time and at that point you either get vaccinated or get terminated.
Several AGs are suing the administration over the federal employee EO, but that won’t do you any good if GSK revokes your exemption.
A surge in cases would present them with a sufficient justification to revoke the exemptions, at least in their minds. Then your situation is - no jab, no job.
For me, no regrets.
