Gulp!!! Amylin contract - Thursday conference call!!!

There was a synergy training class that started on Feb 4 and lasted through the Feb 15th. That's 8 working days after the completion of the class, that the layoffs were announced. 14 of the 19 reps at that class were let go.

Lets see some of you koolaid ass kissers defend this! Many people knew must have known about the fate of these reps prior to the announcement, but did nothing.

I hope karma finds you well

You must be new to contract. This is common and it would be a safe bet that the new hires were told by the hiring managers that there was a shakeup coming. Ventiv would not necessarily know how deep cuts would be, their biggest job is to keep boots on the ground and deliver reach and frequency metrics. If Amylin/BMS are footing the bill for training per the contract, why is that bullshit. None of those guys left a job to come here, and now they will have a recruiter trying to get them placed. It was a gamble that they did not lose on as you think.

Not true. Not all open Synergy territories were expected to be filled. Most. if not all, of the territories filled for the recent training class were identified by management as necessary to fill and were believed to be relatively safe with the upcoming realignment. There were people in that class who did leave other employment for this job. Certainly, none of them expected to be employed for two and a half months and be back on the street again. Remember, these new employees were also the fed the "bigger, not smaller" mantra.

Any , repeat Any and Every Contract can end in a second. Nobody is 'safe' or certain to be placed on new contract...everyday here you should be prepared to make it your last day..sorry for being a downer but this is reality,
