Gulp!!! Amylin contract - Thursday conference call!!!

Ok, we knew the call would be coming. We knew the email would be sent to schedule that call. But it still didnt seem real until I saw it. So it is here now and four days to wait. Predictions anyone? Who is it going to be? Everyone? Synergy? SOCU? Bloodbath? Thoughts people? Good luck to all of us.
 












I want to say welcome Tom Williams. It is so nice to finally hear from you after so many months of silence. I want to say thank you Tom for screwing all the sales reps on this crappy Amylin contract, that you knew was not going anywhere. People like Tom is whats wrong with companies in America today. They look after their own pocket books and don't care about families that they screw along the way.

Seriously. For something that is so important to 100 of us in the field, you think a quick spell check would be the least he could do. No doubt if there were those spelling errors in a cover letter or resume coming across his desk you'd never get an interview. Douche.
 












The managers find out today what the hell is going on. It has been very quite which worries me. One question, if you accepted the retention bonus and get laid off do you still have to return the 50%.
 


















No we do not have to give back any of the 15k. The 15k was the only thing that kept people around this long. Amylin/BMS/Ventiv also feel that by giving Ventiv reps this money they can fairly let everyone go tomorrow. They have already announced that there will only be 3 sales forces-AZ/BMS/Amylin. No surprises will be announced tomorrow.
 












All Synergy managers were displaced today. They were given 30 days notice and their last day will be Friday, March 29th. All Synergy reps will be displaced as well as well as about 5-10% of the legacy reps too.

All territories will be mirrored to include a D1, D2 & D3 rep.

If all Synergy reps were to be displaced, why the need for individual DM/Rep phone calls after the Webcast? I still believe that some Synergy reps are going to be retained.
 






I interviewed in Dallas about 15 months ago for this contract job.... Glad I came in second place!!!!!! Ended up with a direct hire position two months later at 85k base with no layoff history at the company. Bonus is 35k at plan, $1,300 per month for car allowance, and a sweet 401k match with corporate profit contribution to boot!

If all Synergy reps were to be displaced, why the need for individual DM/Rep phone calls after the Webcast? I still believe that some Synergy reps are going to be retained.

I appreciate your optimism but there will no longer be a Synergy sales force. There will not be a continuation of the Ventiv contract. There are now three sales forces DS1, DS2, DS3. If you are not currently getting a paycheck from AZ, BMS or Amylin you will not automatically be rolled in. You WILL have an opportunity to interview for any open positions. The big question is how many open positions will there be? If Amylin falls into an exact mirror footprint of AZ/BMS there will be quite a few open territories in many areas. If Amylin's footprint is more of an overlay/specialty there will not be as many open territories.
The second consideration will be product portfolio for these 3 sales forces. A SOCU rep may or may not be better fit for some territories depending on who gets Symlin.

We should know soon enough.
 






So in the end, Ventiv, Amylin and BMS f__ked us just like we assumed they would from the beginning. All the BS that they told us along the way were just lies. The pharmaceutical industry should not wonder why there is no loyalty from reps anymore. My guess is that the BMS/AstraZeneca alliance is going to get it's butt kicked by the competition anyway. The synergy team were responsible for most of the sales increases so good luck without them.
