GSK 15 question test

They sound like ultra hard markers.
Weeding the garden they've just planted?

Guess they'll need to send the job postings to MIT or Stanford looking for candidates! Geeez....even Yale and Harvard grads could flunk!!!

BS....years of experience and flunkers?

Time to hire teachers who cover material...or tone down the exam to meet the needs!!

I agree - several of the test questions were not the info Jerry covered, he spent all his time on things that weren't all that important and left out some important stuff. Not at all a good trainer, IMO

Come on guys. Are we being serious here? I'm newer in pharma and I thought the test was a piece of cake. I couldn't learn in the live conference environment, so I read the modules. Ran through them right before taking the test, and passed. I was shocked at how basic the questions were. Have a little pride.

Not an easy test because of the time constraints.

Jerry was one of the best trainers I have had in my 20 years, if not the best. He covered it all, and he knows his stuff.

You need to remember that a lot of the pharma reps here are use to having their hands held and spoon fed everything from their big pharma gigs they use to have. Most are not very smart, amazingly lazy and have a great sense of entitlement. That is why you see all the bitching and moaning and people complaining that learning is too hard for their little pharma brains to handle. Therefore, they blame everyone and everything else. The vast majority of former big pharma reps are completely unemployable in the real world since they have no real skill sets or anything resembling a work ethic or self accountability and that is why they stay in this silly industry, even at low rent CSO's like this one. End of story.

No, the test wasn't particularly hard as a whole. However, we covered a ton of material and you had to study everything-- not knowing what would be on the test! Sure, had I known it would just be those questions, I'd be golden. But I didn't have that foresight. And you had just a little over a minute per question. I can see if someone failed and I wouldn't judge. I was worried myself! I passed and am happy that I studied and prepared.

I also don't get why so many people are attacking contract, yet are working IN contract! Do you think your family and friends know (or care) what the difference is? I know my spouse just appreciates that I am employed and pretty proud of me! You don't win any merits for going direct vs. contract. No one cares! You still make a damn good living in a field that most on the outside consider impressive. I have more friends who want into this industry than I can count. It's hard to get into. Why all the snobbery? If you hate contract and/or pharma, then leave! I don't get it and never will.

Very true and well said!

Vast majority of smart people know this (its a secret, really): inVentiv > than manufacturer jobs...and it is by a long shot.

I worked with big pharma a long time and yea many complainers and I'm sorry many were younger 25-35 yrs old both women and men....plus they would want to take home any food after doing a lunch..what a bunch of idiots.
I passed the test but did NOT like the typing format. But them's the breaks. I think this company is fine and I like Jerry...he was excellent.

Written like a true loser.. You don't think reps with manufacturing positions know about contract work!! When I was working with a manufacturer we all talked about working for contract as last resort. I am with this contract now until something better pops up in my area. I'm glad I got hired to hold me over but it's laughable how they low ball us compared to our GSK counterparts just ask around you will find out

Come on we might be teammates that is no way to get us motivated.. My team is full of washed up reps and newbies. I felt like I was at a training in the land of Pharma rep rejects. I know I'm putting myself down saying that but I'll play with the contract rejects until I get a real gig making real money

I may have just gotten lucky with a good offer based on my experience, but my salary with Inventiv is more than my last manufactering position and considerably more than I was making working outside of pharma. The commission is also better, of course the opportunity to make more was there with the manufactor, but the goals were set in a way to ensure no one made the max amount. The commission structure with this position is set to ensure you make full bonus if you do your job. No, I'm not making what I was 8yrs ago ~ but who is? The industry has changed and the days of making those huge salaries and bonuses are history. I am thrilled to have this position - I am making very good money, almost 3x the average for my area. I have good products to market and I have a company with a solid reputation behind me. If your so miserable here please move on, get a job out of pharma. Promise, you'll be begging to get back in, in under 2 yrs. Your complaining sounds like the entitled, spoiled kids of today ~ grow up and be thankful you have a job!
