Good place to work?

I am considering taking a rep position in the Midwest. What would be a realistic first year total comp if you are at goal? How is the company as a whole to work for? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Realistic first year comp depends on a lot of different factors, the primary one being whether the territory was existing and how much business is already there vs. new with $0 revenue. Anywhere from $20k-$50k would be a best guess, just because there are so many factors involved. Overall, the company is good to work for, but this job is certainly not a cakewalk. You will work your tail off, but if you do, you can be successful and make a decent living. Best of luck!

Wait, 20-50 K total comp or is that the bonus on top of a 70k salary? Big difference there!

No - the company is managed by the same bunch of guys that keep going bankrupt and reorganizing. VAP test is great, but unfortunately the company is so mis managed that you will be frustrated and never make any money. RUN AWAY!

I was considering position in Philadelphia, I would think there would be people willing to pay for the test is some of the more affluent suburbs around there. Can I make $70k here? That's all I need

Yes. You will definitely make more than $70. Just keep in mind this job is not easy, and you will work your tail off. It is not pharma, and there is no place to hide from yourself. If using your brain and doing a lot of customer service interests you, than you should push forward to find out more about the job. If not, don't pursue the position because you will not be happy. Hope that helps!! Good luck!

Wow, a rational, well thought out and communicated post. I don't know how to respond to that!?!

Well said and much appreciated!

Best job I ever had and love what i am selling. As mentioned in the earlier posts, you will use your brain and apply customer service 24/7 but it pays off. there is no perfect job but if you have to work and you want to sell something that benefits healthcare and patients this is the place to be. You can review cafe pharma and get a myrad of responces but at the end of the day a job/career is what you make of it. Atherotech affords the opportunity to expand your skill set and be sucessful if you choose to go beyond the "cake walk". it's worth it!

Vomit, obviously someone who came to work here from pharma that has just cracked a top 6 figure salary. Come back in a year and post. Get ready to have your comp plan changed for the worse as they have done the last two years. Did I mention the work does not equal the pay?

Well.... For what it is worth I have been with the company upwards of two years and cant help but love where I work. the product(s) are avaiable to the general public and have the ability to allow for a paradym shift in helath care. for me that is what it is about. I have been making over 6 figures the last 8 years of my career in medical career and find working for Atherotech the most gratifying. Unlike pharma there are so many vaiabiles that play into is this the right role for you. For me, this is the job for me and feel good about what i do. As for upper management, " RW, SR & JS, love them all they all have thier place where they add tremendous value to the company!

been out of pharma and making over 200k for the past 2 years and over 3kplus last year. my thoughts..... I like to be positive. Nothing is perfect. WE have an incredible product and management tearm that wants to see us sucessfull. There is not perfect. Trust me, 15 years in medical.... No perfect. i truly love it hear. Is that so bad? Strava, Vanwanger and Rezek to me are cool to work with . Mullin is a tremendous asset to the team. Cant think of why time is well spent bashing a company with the most incredible prodcuts and desire to help patients. To me money etc is important but to love what you do is paramount and how i feel.

Thanks Atherotech for a fantastic place to work!

well being a former rep, its amazing this place is still in business. we all got the massive dupe the first go around where we lost what was suppose to be six figure stock options. be hard to trust these guys since the same management is in place and running the circus. what does high turnover in the work force with same guys running the show for 10 years tell you?

FYI There are guys who invested cash and got stock options from Atherotech 10 years ago waiting for away out. This company is a disaster and should be investigated by authorities. I am a former rep and got out after I made loads of cash, but when I was up against my own numbers bringing in tons of business making no commission I fled. I suggest you do the same.

Summit Diagnostic's new "vested program" is a commitment to the hard working reps across the company producing for Summit.
The new lines are fresh, the owner is dynamic, and the Sales Manager is the best.
Great people, rewards, incredible commissions, and exciting trips!
Spots are filling up fast!

"Good place to work"? NOPE! Less than 5% of reps have been here more than 2 years! Every patient gets a bill, bonus plan is a joke, and they run the place like a pharma company but wait..... You have to find all the offices yourself. Waiting for the bonus and out of here. Oh and the baselines.... Another day..... So the answer is... NOPE!

Joined this company recently and was looking forward to the opportunity.
Previous rep ruined the Atherotech climate in my area. HDL has total control.
Hear everyday "insurance companies won't pay".
Manager is a jerk. Not sure how I can last much longer.
This is a miserable place to work.
