Globus Spine

Does not sound like the above poster knows what he/she is talking about. Chicago market is a GREAT market to sell in! Oh sure, MDT is the only company making money??!!! HA! Do you realize how big Chi is??? Gimme a break! Tons of opps here...I have multiple friends working for various companies and all doing preety well...200k+

Whatevs.

Have to agree with the other guy and disagree with you. I know and have worked with about a half dozen Stryker, Medtronic and Synthes spine reps in Chicago. Stryker seems to be turning over people weekly, while the MDT up north seems to be doing pretty good. Granted, she's been a rep for them for over a decade, but she's got some pretty big accounts. Sythnes is probably in second place behind MDT.
Half the hospitals are literally telling their ortho spine and neuro guys 'No' to some spine companies the docs are trying to bring in. The Life Spine I know has been denied in two Advocate hospitals because of cost. Globus may have some decent implants, but the bottom line is that they've been trying to get people in for two years here in Chicago, and no one has made a dent yet.
The spine and ortho implant heydays are long over. There are way too many different companies out there, and the spine people trying to slug through it are finding themselves spending half their day delivering trays because the number of spine surgeries in the are has dropped dramatically. People are scared shitless about getting a surgery that could take months for recovery and might just cost them their jobs. So, they're sticking with the nerve blocks and injections or staying on meds longer.
Take the job with Globus if you don't have any other options. But, expect to have little to no cases for a LONG time.

I've been called by two different head hunters for a position in Chicago for Globus. Don't recall the recruiters' companies, but I know one was out of NYC and the other somewhere in Ohio. Why don't I remember their names? Because the instant they said Globus, I said no thank you.
I'm not saying Globus is a bad company, I'm saying I wouldn't work for them in the Chicago market at all. There's 25 different spine companies being used in Chicago, and only MDT's S.D. is doing decent business. The rest is like small fish circling around the bigger fish and feeding off his leftovers. And, that S.D. fish ain't so big anymore.
Know what really kicks you in the teeth? The number of spine companies here in Chicago that Neuro and Ortho Spine doc's have vested interests in. Yes, dear friends, many of the spine docs I've worked with in the past are members of implant companies they have ownership in, and of course are only going to use them. Don't believe me? Check out Life Spine.

I am one of the twenty-five here in Chicago. I laugh when I hear the Illinois and Chicago gov't is crooked because it follows suite with ALL THE SPINE SURGEONS in CHICAGO. It is a complete joke. If I were a patient wanting a true opinion on the right back procedure, I would fly OUTSIDE of Chicago. Surgeons here are so twisted it's insane.

This is an excellent company. I've heard nothing but good things from the Globus reps in my area. I hear they pay very well and are coming out with a ton of products each year. If you have a chance to get in with these guys I would definitely do it.

If you are looking for hirning managers in your area, try the web page! I know, I know, it sounds so stupid. However, Globus is the only company I have ever researched who actually lists their area managers on there web page. Look around a bit, it's in there under the "area Managers" or something like that. Name, email, and cell. Check it out

Charlotte will be direct. the old AD move to Chicago to straighten out the mess there- they just placed another manager in SC . Globus is moving toward direct reps in most markets. Good , solid company with great products.
