Anyone else get the news today that the GSK diabetic launch is on hold?
I spoke with dm today and it was stated that the launch is on hold. Would know more next week.
Certainly raises a huge concern as to whether any of the other reps brought on board will be employed. Thoughts?

I can't imagine what they're deciding that they would release by next week that they don't already know now. I think they're rescinding some offers based on territory viability. Why didn't they run the numbers prior to the dog and pony show we all were put through?
 






I got the same call. Really disappointed. Wish we knew more. Stinks that we have to wait until Monday. Happy Mother's Day! Nothing like feeling like an opportunity to provide for your kids is being taken away. Granted it hadn't started yet, and nothing should surprise me in this industry anymore.

Just your own theory about it being territory specific? I thought everyone was getting the call. Any and all theories are welcome. Eventually one of us will be proven right, haha! Rumor on the GSK board that they may be open to selling off other divisions like they did oncology. It is all pure conjecture at this point. I guess all we can do is wait.

Complete speculation on my part. The wording I was given was that the "Tanzeum launch is evolving and sales force deployment" is being evaluated. Who knows. Maybe they're just gonna delay our start date? I hope it's just a minor set back, but you never know with pharma.
 






The product hasn't been approved yet. There are ventive people on a Merck project who are most likely being let go in June. They may roll them over to this project.
Never stop looking. Even if you have an " offer."

Yes, the product was approved April 15. I do agree to never stop looking these days.

Obviously since it was scripted I got the same message. Unfortunately, not much to go on. Yours is a good guess. Just sucks waiting. I am sure there are people who passed on other offers for this one or gave notices so that they could have off sometime between jobs (with the summer essentially being taken up with training). Just a crappy thing to do and a crappy way to start a weekend.

Completely. Was also read something about contingencies like passing a background test and drug test, etc. I've never failed either before--why would they include that in the statements?

I thought that was weird too, but I was told that had nothing to do with it. DM seemed to really not know anything.
 






























Well guys, the only thing that seems to be a fact is that we don't really know anything. I'm really sorry for us all. It seemed like a good opportunity. Hopefully it is just a delay. I am going to have a drink and try my best not to think about it all weekend. Sincerely, good luck everybody!
 












Manager said the entire district got the call. Read the script. Waiting until Monday. I think this is coming from Glaxo. There are rumblings they are selling this product. Just a guess. Frustrating.
