What divisions are having Live meetings this Summer in large populated cities, airports, airlines & hotels?

Few weeks ago, no worries w vaccination now with the mutations & duel variants with 30% of hospitalizations being vaccinated people now.
Our company is loosing its mind with a live Meeting .

If I get Delta even though I am vaccinated or spread it from the meeting/hotel/airport/plane to any of my kids, I am going to file a major lawsuit against Gilead, the VP & EDs who made this stupid irresponsible decision to risk my & my family's lives!

Sorry Sparky - you can’t keep getting full pay and hiding in your basement forever. If you don’t want to go, then quit. This is a business that is based on profit and requires face to face interaction. I’m sure you could get a telemarketer job and not have to go anywhere.

Yes, i agree f2f with our customers/offices/hcp’s with mostly limited interactions…but a live meeting with others spit and air is totally unwarranted.

Who TF is hiding in their basement you gigantic TOOLBOX?? The person said nothing about not working with customers. Traveling to a meeting, staying in hotels and meeting in close proximity in rooms all day with people like yourself that's probably a MAGA from hell anti-vaxer is something a lot of people may not want to do. My question is WHY TF are you so excited about a meeting in the first place??? Seriously. Tell me why this meeting is so important to your business? WHY is it important enough for you to accuse people of not doing their jobs when our jobs isn't going to meetings it's calling on customers. I don't have to fly to see customers. I don't have to spend the night in hotels to see customers. My customers are wearing masks as am I when I call on them. TOTALLY different thing than going to a meeting. Gilead Divisional VP who approved Summer meetings in big cities with large hotels & restaurants should be fired.

I am fully vaccinated and felt safe, probably to comfortable letting me guard down but past 2 wks 3 family members who also are vaccinated got the Delta. 2 put in hospital 3& 5 days with severe symptoms breathing.
Obvious now that the India study was accurate in vaccine is only 30-50% coverage .

So Gilead needs to do the right thing & cancel these live meetings flying to big cities in large hotels.
Just common sense and dont be stupid putting employees at risk or more important being a carrier back to family & friends.
 






This is what happens when we populate the company with strap hangers. They are big talk until it gets tough and then they want to hide.

Just like being down range. All the big talkers where happy they drove trucks and served us food.

We know who took risks.

Wow.... that sounds like something a wannabe Military guy would say. You were probably one of those "strap hangers' you're referring to even if you were in the military. Big TALK. If it's that big of a deal to you maybe you should call HR and tell them what a joke they are for making this a hybrid meeting and even offering a virtual choice? Why don't you confront the RD's that decided to go virtual only and tell them what "strap hangers" they are?

What you're saying is those two regions (or anyone else for that matter choosing virtual) bring nothing to the table? They're just dead weight. They are good for nothing aside from serving you food? You're quite the narcissist and really do need to get over yourself.

Actually Naval Academy Graduate, ex Navy Seal 8yrs, former MMA fighter. So I am not afraid of any human. But just simple common sense & smarts given Gilead is a leader in viruses with how quickly they mutate & spread.
Employment attorneys are lining up.

Just tell the co to F off and lawyer up of force to attend large meetings during surge.
You have the right to stay home and protect your family instead of being a spreader.
 






Why all the dramatics? If you don't want to go in-person to the meeting then don't. You've got a choice. Those that are hell bent on going then go. Everyone just needs to relax and do wtf you want to do. Stop worrying about everyone else. No need to hate either way.

We promote a drug that treats COVID19. We have an obligation to at least try to help prevent the spread. It's not about YOU it's about other people. We have an obligation to the disease prevention itself at least during a surge. Calling on customers is a lot more controllable than traveling on a plane and meeting in a hotel and going out to crowded restaurants in cities where it's wide open. We're going to all travel and meet LIVE for no really good reason aside from some people bragging about how "they're so brave or they work harder than other people". You're no martyr. Calling on customers can directly effect patients but this meeting will most definitely not so don't kid yourself. Even leadership and training are all going to be on Zoom so either way you're going to be dealing with virtual parts of the meeting. Makes no sense.
