Getting Any Better

If Boston can bundle the Endokits with their existing business, it may be a good move. We didn't have a strong position with GPOs and with those kits, it is a race to the bottom on pricing with our competitors.

And for all of the fan boys who ripped on the reps like myself who have been actively interviewing over the past few months, I told you so. Gilreath will slit your throat to save his skin and he did it yesterday. There is no such thing as CHIE or loyalty at this company. Don't kid yourself, Boston will take the products from the portfolio and fire all of us at year end.

Boston will not keep the Fuse endoscopy system. It will get sold off or laid out to pasture. It's a sad reality to realize a technology that I have seen time and time again catch polyps, adenomas, cancer, etc. while the traditional scope (usually olympus) is more than likely going to sit with nothing being done to it or sold to physicians.

Most of us were not drinking the CHIE kool-aid, we saw through that crap. Those of us that were passionate about what we were doing were passionate because of Fuse and what it was doing to improve patient care. Was it a perfect product? Hell fucking no. Did it come a long way in a damn short period of time? Yes. If Fuse was the product it is today except 2 years ago, I truly think the outcome would have been different.

Endochoice will be a story about what happens when your head is lodged so far up your ass that all you can see is your giant ego thus leading to the downfall of a company.

Well said. Boston wants the Path, IC, and scope services business. They devices they do take from us (Rescue, Needle) will only compliment what they already have. They will sell off Fuse to offset what they are paying for us.

Salary. So for most of us, you can milk it till YE while you interview and then get 1-2 months at the start of the new year.
For most of us, that won't even amount to one of MG's or DG's weekly landscaper fees! Put this behind you! Whether you busted your ass or didn't do shit to help our situation, it really doesn't matter now cause in the end we're all in the same boat. Bosci won't retain more than 5% of us and even those taken shouldn't be envied (nor should they be chastised. Good for those chosen. They get to stay employed).
The rest either just wasted, or had the rug pulled out from under, one of the very few opportunities you will ever have to truly impact a patient's life.
Fuck you to those who squandered this opportunity, and my SINCERE GRATITUDE to those who went out there and fought through all the adversity, because, like me, you believed you were doing something special.
Lastly, a lot of these CF posts bashed GC, but you couldn't be more off base. You pieces of shit arent qualified to judge him and, although you will ignorantly respond to my post, you'll never understand how good you had it. That said, a double FUCK YOU to you!!

It's one month's pay at plan. Factors salary and commission assuming you were at plan.

...for each year you worked at the company, and I'm pretty sure it's rounded up if I recall. So 15 months of service gets 2 months pay at plan.

And by the way- love the dialogue about the man in the arena, FDR quote. One of my favorite quotes and I've read it countless times, usually when I need motivation.

Regardless of what some of our politicians stand for, society needs to have winners and losers. Capitalism works. MG dared to try. The haters didn't. If you don't like it, then go create some value for yourself somewhere and stop pouting.

Nope. You don't need qualifications to know that GC is an asshole with a Napoleon complex. He lacked empathy and compassion and was universally disliked and untrustworthy. Complete lack of sound judgement of his people. Horrible curator of any sort of positive culture.

This is not "opinion" when scores and scores and scores of people all say the same things about him over and over, year after year, turnover after turnover, time and time again.

Let's get this settled...there is not one person on here "bashing" Gilreath for having the vision or guts to start a company. More power to him. No one on here is "bashing" him because things did not go as planned for the company. He is getting "bashed" because of the way he treated those below him, and because he promoted culture that was in reality nothing more than a meaningless slogan.

I don't blame him for selling to Boston Scietific; things were getting desperate for the company and he really had no choice. He isn't the first to fail and won't be the last.

If he weren't such an asshole to so many in the organization you wouldn't see the negative comments on here.

If you treat people horribly and you build a company with $200 billion in revenue, they call you Steve Jobs. If you treat people horribly and are running out of cash and have to sell your company, they call you Mark Gilreath. Both of them are wrong in the way they treat people.

Sorry, have to disagree with you on GC. If you've seen his true colors, you know that he is only out for himself, no one else. I was around when he told a few of us after a few drinks, "I've hired and fired entire sales forces. It doesn't matter to me." I was also around when, after a few drinks, threatened to pick a fight with an RM because the RM dared to disagree with GC and tell GC, that the reps aren't numbers. They are people with families, human beings.

I was also around when he told us, "If you guys see three Fuses a year here, you are guaranteed to make $300K a year."

The guy lies more than anyone else I've ever met. Wait, MG lies more than anyone I've ever met, GC is a close second.

I'm guessing that the original poster might be EC because he is the only one who would defend GC.

GC told us yesterday that he was honestly surprised that we've been sold to Boston. Based on the conversations that I've had with RMs, they sounded surprised/shocked as well. I would find it extremely amusing if it's true that MG sold this company without the knowledge of his "inner circle" or the guys who started this company in the basement with MG. While it is awful that 100s of people will lose their jobs, I do find some humor if GC, BL, GB, and EC, etc. had no idea that this was coming.

I am going to suggest the following:

It is time to let it go.

There is no disputing Gilreath's lack of character and his lousy leadership.

He will ride off into the sunset with his millions, and guess what, it won't change who he is, and he will not all of a sudden develop moral character.

He simply is not with the effort. Don't let him occupy too much of your brain.

Time to move on.

Signing off.......

Glad to see a lot of activity on LinkedIn with fellow reps connecting with recruiters. Run, don't walk from this company. Don't listen to GC when he tells you that Q4 is an interview for Boston. Just get out of here ASAP and take the next few months as a paid job search.

I had good times @ EC & met a lot of good people. Every company has hacks that come through that you know won't make it. I saw my share of those too. I saw people who came from other cush jobs that management thought were going to be world beaters & couldn't sell their way out of a paper bag. I saw people who came from those same jobs who leveraged their relationships to kill it. IMHO, when they started bringing in a bunch of douche bags from outside, they lost everything. It was low tier hubristic hacks who thought they knew everything, telling the reps who built the company they didn't know shit. Turns out, in the end, it was the leadership who didn't know shit.
I've seen HJ bashed on here some. That is total bullshit. Of anyone I have ever worked with/for, the guy earned it & knows what it takes to get shit done. You don't single handedly build a $3MM territory from absolutely nothing slinging bite blocks & crap without hard work & dedication. So the guy is loyal to the leadership, big deal, his experience is different from everyone else's here. EC (rep) has been bashed too. That is also bullshit. Anytime I reached out to him for help, he was willing to share info & help me understand stuff I was unfamiliar with. So what if EC (company) played favorites. Every place does and you tend to be loyal to the people that you started with. That isn't the fault of the people who were favored.
My problem with EC (company) was their lack of confidence in the people who produced and built the company up, but weren't favored. Instead, they were treated like shit.
It's like America. I love the American people, but despise the piece of shit leadership running it into the ground when there is so much potential to be great.
Also, to the people talking about Gilreath and Capitalism, that stupid son of a bitch believes in cronyism, & that is how he cashed out. I can tell you that HJ had way more to do with this company making it to the point it did than MG.

The fact that you'd find any of this amusing is a testament to your lack of character. The only good thing to come out of any of this, is you (and those like you) will finally be able to pursue the only thing you're qualified for......a Fluffer on a gay porn movie set. Best of luck cocksucker! I will miss this thread!

I will miss this thread too. However, I didn't know that gay porn sets used fluffers. I guess your knowledge of gay porn is more extensive than mine. Speaking of character, didn't you just tell someone who will most certainly lose their job, someone who might have a wife and family, to become a fluffer for gay porn & then call them a cocksucker? You are quite obviously management & I thought you would be excited about how things turned out. Why so bitter?

If you'd read the original post, you'd see his humor was about GC and the inner circle. However, you had fluffer and gay porn on your mind so I guess you were a little distracted.

Could not disagree more with you on GC.

He inspired no one.
He coached and mentored no one.
He had the trust of no one.
He had the admiration of no one.
He showed gratitude for no one.

It's fascinating just how much this sales force failed under his responsibility, and 90% of the failures centered around mishandling personnel and human capital. What an incredible deficiency in basic emotional intelligence.

It should be noted just how inept this guy was. He had access to build a national sales team of @ 50 professionals over 6 years with average comp at $160k. You can find serious talent for $160k. Inspiration is free. The result was alarming turnover, perpetual quarter misses, failed messaging, a sales culture of toxicity, disengagement of people, and a nuclear wasteland that rivals "the day after".

All that capital, all that opportunity. Wasted. All because you don't know the simple basics of working with and leading other people. Pretty solid HBR case study.

I never said that I was hired prior to Fuse arriving.

As I mentioned, if you can track me down by looking at the sales rankings, I don't care. I have one foot out the door anyways. However, I haven't really worked in months and I fake most of my demos. No big deal.

By the way, I am working. I already hit Fuse quota. Have you? Maybe you should work more?

This person had it right the whole time. Here we are a few months later and we will be out of jobs in January. I should have been interviewing a few months ago. There were red flags everywhere with this company. I just decided to ignore them.

100% dead on. I left within the last year. I've been around the block and have worked for a couple outstanding organizations and leaders. Greg Is not only the worst leader I've ever met but probably one of the worst people I've met.

What an ugly individual. And very deserving of the negative reviews.
