FU MERCK!!

I blame RP for keeping the same idiots who got us here. Now they're trying to shut down R&D at WP and have been cutting some of the best talent and brightest scientists that Merck had.
This will come back to hurt Merck. Many have been swooped up by the competition and are now motivated to prove something. They may have left their notebooks behind, but they still have the knowledge

If you are not on the cancer drug you are of no use to RP - or MRL. The SEC filings show the R&D costs for that to be a material risk to the balance sheet now. All bets are on THAT drug. All efforts on anything else are being cut.

Hail Mary!

What a tool. Do you know what the MISSION of this company is? There are libraries of scientific journals on site.

Actually, I do not know what the "Mission" of this company is. I doubt you do either. But why don't give it a go and provide a synopsis in your own words. I also question your capacity to understand scientific articles.

"We are committed to improving health and well-being around the world. From developing new therapies that treat and prevent disease to helping people in need, we are guided by a rich legacy and inspired by a shared vision."

The post calling you a tool was too kind. Many MRL scientists don't just read these journals - they publish in them.

It's sad that there are so many of your ilk here at Merck now. It was once a proud place of collaboration and shared purpose to improve lives and destroy diseases. Now it's just sad.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH from the 1970's. What journals are you reading.

It's too bad MRL scientists think publishing in journals is Mission critical. Perhaps if they worked harder to prepare patents then Merck would be in a stronger position.

Do everyone a favor and don't post about the discovery process if you have no idea how it works. Publishing study results and research methods are integral to the patent process.

Stick to taking your Starbucks orders, it seems better suited to your knowledge of pharma.

Lol. I'm in sales and have tremendous respect for what bench chemists and science in pharma does. I have a fair amount of knowledge tempered with experience and pride myself in extending and challenging my activities to make an impact with physicians but I also know how much work and disappointment and success goes into the discovery process and without those success I'm stuck with talking about, oh maybe, the 8th ARB on the market.

I understand how it works. I have plenty of patents and several more in process. Publishing has no bearing on patent allowance. It's your ego that makes you think publishing is more important than patents.

Upper management made it a requite for promotion! Wouldn't would want to strive for promotion, bigger merit, bigger, AIP, and yes, I think it brought down the company to an extent.

Excuse me, I wrote too fast. Upper management made publishing a requisite for promotion. What scientist would not look for the next level. The famed Senior Author Publication. So blame the top brass for running the company like academia. And then promotions at MRL were frozen for 5 years.

Patents count as publications.
