Ford Fusion... Are You Kidding?

I am glad I have a job but THIS CAR WILL NOT, WILL NOT, WILL NOT GET ME TO MY HOSPITALS IN THE WINTER!!!! HOW CAN I MAKE THIS ANY CLEARER. IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT IT IS FREE, IT WILL BE STUCK AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY ON A DAILY BASIS FOR AT LEAST TWO DAYS A WEEK FOR A LONG COLD WINTER THAT LASTS ABOUT FIVE MONTHS!!!!!

After fifteen years in specialty and hospital, I have never in my entire employment history been provided such a POS, unsafe vehicle for this type of driving condition or tenure. I would be fine with it if I lived anywhere with even light snow or a sunshine state. That is not the case. This car could actually end my life. It is that bad out here in the winter.

You probably need to take snows days more than many of us.

Oh, yeah - like what 60 days? That will work. Great idea, Sherlock. I'm sure Merck and my boss won't mind at all. In the meantime my numbers will suck. Great idea. I will push that up the ladder at our next regional teleconference. LOL

What do you suppose the difference in cost is between a 4-wheel drive Escape and a Fusion? Really! I bet it is not more than 1000 from the lease company. Yet one death or severe accident could cost a hundred thousand. . . makes perfect sense to me. (NOT)

OMG - stop the ranting!
Address this with management in a mature and serious manner. If you calm down you just might be able to successfully make your point with people in charge.

What exactly do you think lawyers do? You think they are all working with innocent lovely people or dirt? You think we got married because he wants some lame ass, push over lazy c(nt for a wife or someone who can actually go toe to toe with his mind and what he encounters daily?

God, I cannot believe some of you Merck people - no chops. And, as far as Merck lawyers, their goal is to minimize damage claims and protect the company. Truly, people like me are helpful because we clear the air and make sure everyone gets what they want. I actually know how to create win/win situations. The idea is NEVER to go to court but to get your facts straight out in documentation BEFORE anything bad happens.

Oh, and thank you. I am a big f-ing Bitch and believe me not the type of person to take it from anybody even my employer, especially if I believe the situation is not safe, not healthy, not ethical and not a win/win. Got it?
Lady, you're the best! You're the perfect rep to compete and win in today's pharmaceutical business environment. Merck would do well to clone you. Next best thing would be to get you involved in training. As for the leased vehicle, I think you have made a valid argument. I'm sure I don't need to encourage you to do whatever it takes to satisfactorily resolve the issue.

I'm not particularly disappointed with the Fusion option, until I realize that the stipend that Merck takes out of our paycheck essentially pays for the choice. Give me a gas card and the stipend back, stipulate a reasonable amount of fuel allowed by the card, and let me choose the car, since I'm using my own money to fund the majority of the cost and Merck already hammers us for personal miles. Since everyone has auto insurance (which insures the DRIVER, not the CAR), provide me with a reasonable stipend to offset the insurance cost and I will make the best choices for me. Require me to provide proof of insurance to Merck, and get out of my life, with all the background checks for my spouse and me to simply use a car I have funded.

That is what every other sales force outside of pharma does. But we work for an Orwellian company...

Ford Fusion?

What a piece of $h1t! What a joke!
Why not bring back the Ford Escort or Ford Pinto?

Just give me a Yugo!!!

Don't you think a Yugo is asking for a bit much? In 2012 we'll all interview for our jobs with a contract sales company run by minions and they'll give us Schwinn bicycles with a huge basket for samples.

You're an embarrassment to the Hospital division....

Another great decision by the one and only Bob McMan!! Hopefully, this time, he will be held accountable for his decision when the number of accidents go up because all those little old people I manage to dodge in the parking lots can't see us. An increase in accidents will yield an increase in our self funded insurance costs and an increase in the operating expenses for the fleet vehicles. This is the same man who gave us ENHANCE, NCM, just to name a few. I am looking forward to the day and will frame the email that announces his "unexpected" resignation.

True except that mother is full of sociopaths that take great joy in the misery of her employees. I'm from MI and had to LOL when I read the line about "snow tires". With "decision makers" like Bobby Mac, it is truly a miracle that we have a company at all.

PLEASE-- GIVE IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITS A CAR. IT RUNS. IT GETS YOU TO OFFICES.

YOU HAVE A JOB AND A CAR TO BOOT.

NOW PLEASE....... SHUT UP ON THIS CAR BS.

Did you forget that I have to pay to ride in a turd car every day? The note can't be much more than the amount they steal from my check each month. I unlike mrkbots, would like to CHOOSE the car I PAY for!

UNBELIEVEABLE to be complaining about having any company car.

Look, this job SUCKS most days, we are treated like crap by the offices, have to submit to the indignity of being the local caterer, we are ridiculed by everyone, including our own management, on thing that helped me "suck it up" was at least I had a relatively beautiful car to drive and PAY for! Why don't they take away the mandatory fee when they force us to drive 45K miles per year in a death trap???

wow-talk about arrested development. but that's a merck rep for you. thats why you guys get treated like the little bitches you are - because merck knows you focus on the trivial and always miss the big picture. i left merck two years ago to work for a real sales organization and now drive the fusion. it's every bit as nice as the impala i had w/merck
so if you leave because they gave you a fusion guess what car you'll most likely get (if you're lucky to even find a job)? a ford fusion. you guys certainly have the monopoly on rep moronic behavior. p.s. mgmt. orginally wanted to put you all in the ford focus - so you would stay "focused."

I don't want anyone to buy a car, give me the money I am more that capable of buying my own car.

That is our AVERAGE drive buddy. So the Fusion is NOT going to cut it. Can you picture six foot snow drifts and ice on the road and having to travel 200 miles a day? Am I supposed to have it towed to get from point A to point B? Maybe drive 20 miles an hour and take a day and half to get to point A. Ahhh, No! My lawyer will have a feast on this if Merck does not get a clue real quick. . . like a bunny. I can promise Merck: The first time this POS slides off the road and I have to trudge through two foot drifts with no station for miles and no cell signal in 20 below weather, my lawyer will be the first one I call and NOT Wheels.

Again, I hope this the the final straw that rids us of Bobby Mac!!!
