FLM's hit hard

the "career" in pharma is over. You can grasp for the last jobs available with Novartis or with the other companies but the real number left employed after all companies have been "rightsized" will be very small. The posts I see on here suggest that managers are better prepared for this but I really don't think so. They are like me, middle-aged, white, and skilled in one unique industry that gets no respect from any other industry. I know there will be follow-up posts slamming me for these comments but I really do know what I am talking about.

When your "Sales Manager" position involves evaluating b.s. values and behaviors more than holding reps accountable for actual sales increases, you are more suited for a position as a pre-school teacher.

I have had 6 managers in my pharma career. Only 2 have been fantastic. The others I learned not to hold my breath for. Just because someone is a great rep, which I'm sure all of them were, doesn't translate to being a great (or even mediocre) rep. It's a COMPLETELY different job managing people which some are great and some well, it's just the wrong position for them.

I only know of a couple who will be able to land anything outside of Novartis.

Word is that FLM's will be laid off in substantial numbers. I for one can't wait to hear which of my favorites get "displaced"! This could be better than Survivor and American Idol combined. Wish I could vote on who stays and who goes. "The tribe has spoken" and as I always like to say, Karma is hell!

For the first time, the FLM's will not get rep jobs. So many managers are way over payed and are horrible coaches. And the new reps that just became managers bye-bye. It's so funny how their heads get so big, so quick.

less than 80% is not hard enough & that % should be same for MD's
when will the company learn those are wasted non revenue producing
capital drains that caused 100% of all the lawsuits to boot
