Fixing diversity: a proposal







Ban all White Male hiring panels. Have to repair the damage done first before we can move forward. Enough rhetoric. End that racist practice.

I have had the reverse happen before and both of them had no business being there. They had no knowledge of the space and were condescending. So if I’m ever promoted to that position based on MERIT and not the color of my skin; you can bet your black ass I won’t forget it.
 






incompetence has no skin pigmentation. I have seen my inordinate share of incompetent white leaders - male and female.

I have not been led my an imcompetent hispanic or african american. They have to be better because they are evaluated differently. that difference challenged me to be better every step of the way. it was inspirational. it was and is still appreciated.

Diversity is not a qualification, but a qualifier. Abbv has an opp to recast our leadership. A bold opp. Fuck it, no one reads this shit anyway. Might as well post this on myspace.

First, I can read the English language. And, I agree with your last comment. Change is needed and INCLUDE the "right percentage" of Hispanic/ Latinos, Asians, and Native Americans. Do not leave them behind. They are a major segment of the changing demographics.

But, your experience is not my life long career in pharma experience at all. I have seen obvious cases of "protected and promoted" status people who scream bloody murder; if they believe (or even don't believe but want to put the claim out there) someone even breathed a racist breath or dreamed a racist dream. That is absolutely, unequivocally, unethical and simply, wrong. It can destroy peoples careers. Unfounded racist claims in a hypersensitized environment You have your experience I have mine.

And, HR, Compliance & Ethics, the cottage industry of PhRMA lawyers all hide their predominately WHITE ASSES under their collective desks if it reaches their ears. They immediately assume the worse. Guilt until proven innocent. You could not EVEN fairly evaluate minorities without grave risk of being in violation.

All the while, children, the corporate executives NEVER CHANGED the way they kept minorities OUT of their world. 40 years of FACTS with PhRMA. Hypocrites. Our CEO and others at the top of the FOOD CHAIN, are simply, DO AS I SAY, NOT as I REALLY DO.
 






But if it was ANOTHER TYPE, of DISCRIMINATION in the work place that was not a priority. Well, then, tough luck, your going to face the reaper. I saw it time and time again with people with mental disabilities, age and political/religious outspokenness. You can say, dumb to the later but political or religious beliefs would not be discriminated against. They do not change the worker "for the worse" per se. That is judgmental and discriminatory.

Would we target and remove Calvary Baptist, ultra liberal activists? NO. We should not. But I have stories that would curl your nose and ears. PhRMA, the big machine.
 






The HR interview for manager roles are borderline illegal. Is it me or are they using “diversity” and “inclusion” to ask race preference questions? They are making hiring decisions based upon this and not past performance experience.

Is this how all interviews are?

Here's the way things will look, approximately in 25 years or so. Hard working, mild manner brown people of Hispanic/Latino color and race (of which I am one, proud and here); then Asians growing at a very rapid rate (I work alongside some extremely hard working Asians with a dedication to education and self improvement) and no Native American Indians unfortunately in may area of this little country we call, Abbvie.

Hispanic/Latinos growing to 39% of the U.S. Population, brothers of one U.S.A.
Asians growing to almost 10% of the U.S. population, sisters of one U.S.A.
Blacks grow in absolute numbers as the U.S. grows in 25 years staying at approximately 13%.
And WHITES are at approximately one in two, at 47% of the entire, coast to coast population in the U.S.

So, who drives the bus my melting pot, just minded, not retaliatory, best candidate always in business citizen?!

See, no one is losing their mind. Maybe you in your giddy chance at some form of revenge. Bet you go to church each Sunday and walk out an unchanged person. I digress.

The facts will drive the bus. And the white elitists in corporate America, the media, professional politicians and aristocrats have a plan that has nothing to do with "you" per se. But to control. Get over your little self.

I got shin splints from the 400 Hurdles, so I am blaming my race

I hit 3 out of 11 3-point attempts and suffered 4 turn overs as our short, white point guard last night. I'm blaming my race, my "olive skinned" dad who never taught me how to protect the ball and my mom who fed me too many McD Kid meals on the flippin' fly. I want a new home. All they want me to really do is study my advanced calc and physiology.

I say, I will take them to an attorney who represents the "little guy"; not the corporate GORILLAS, SNAKES, nor weak crocodile HR personnel, who are not a true Human Resource. Rather a Human Control Mechanism that parades as pious, ethical with unshakable, uninfluenceable integrity. They are a charade if you never had serious matters before them that made them choose between "ABOVE" or "BELOW"; rather than "JUST" versus "UNJUST" decisions affecting peoples careers and lives. Now with COORPORATE AMERICA EXECUTIVE TEAMS ALL DRINKING THE MEDIA FUELED SOCIAL DISASTER OF THE DAY FOR THEIR INHERENT ADVANTAGE, you will see various TRENDS that push LEGAL LIMITS for their AGENDA. Jeremy Lin is fed up with people acting like anti-Asian American racism doesn't exist -- saying he's personally experienced the hatred on the basketball court where he's been called names like "Coronavirus."

The former NBA star -- who currently plays for the Santa Cruz Warriors -- unloaded on social media about the rising numbers of hate incidents directed at Asians in America.

In New York and San Francisco, officials say hate crime incidents are up BIG versus previous years.

The NYPD reported 28 hate crimes against Asian Americans in 2020 ... up from 3 in 2019.

Data out of SF shows 9 hate crimes against Asians in 2020 ... up 33% from the 6 in 2019, according to the Washington Post.

Additionally, the Asian American advocacy group AAPI says it's received more than 2,500 reports of hate incidents in the U.S. directed at Asians since March 2020.

Enter Lin ... who's simply had enough.

"Something is changing in this generation of Asian Americans," 32-year-old Lin said Thursday in an emotionally-charged Facebook post.

"We are tired of being told that we don't experience racism, we are tired of being told to keep our heads down and not make trouble."

"We are tired of Asian American kids growing up and being asked where they're REALLY from, of having our eyes mocked, of being objectified as exotic or being told we're inherently unattractive."

"We are tired of the stereotypes in Hollywood affecting our psyche and limiting who we think we can be. We are tired of being invisible, of being mistaken for our colleague or told our struggles aren't as real."

Lin -- a Taiwanese-American -- says he's motivated to make a difference to make sure future generations are treated equally and respectfully in the U.S.

"I want better for my niece and nephew and future kids. I want better for the next generation of Asian American athletes than to have to work so hard to just be 'deceptively athletic.'"

Lin also noted he's been called names like "coronavirus" on the court -- and doesn't want anyone else to have to experience the same racism.

He ended his post with a simple question -- "So here we are again, sharing how we feel. Is anyone listening?"
 






What's really dumb is not knowing and or accepting facts. Viruses are usually named from origin. Coronaviruses come from CHINA. Eg. Spanish flu. This current environment is truly dumb and very weak. If you are that offended, buckle up, life is offensive at times.

If your income is tied to that person, wouldn’t you want the best one regardless of race? Why does race have to be a question? Hire the best person first. Race should be irrelevance.
 






You hire the one with the highest talent. Current skills, ok. It is talent that matters. You do not hire people for a role - that is mcdonalds thinking. If I am gonna put 6 figures in your pocket, I am hiring to develop you for one, two roles ahead.

Hire talent. Train skill.
