Agree, anyone who brings legal representation is a damn fool.

Any good and honest attorney, if there is such a thing, would tell you to save your money because they know that they would not be allowed anywhere near a meeting like this. But most would take your case and start racking up bills immediately or tell you that they won't charge you a dime unless they win a settlement. Avoid these crooks and liars like the plague.

then your lawyer is either a fool or a desperate crook or both. AZ would never negotiate a severance with your attorney. if you are fired and sue AZ then maybe after dragging your ass through hot lava and broken glass for 3 fucking years, if you are still standing then maybe. but by then you would have lost any chance of legitimate employment and your attorney would take most of your severance. The lawyer always wins and the client almost always loses. Don't do it AZ will destroy you because they cannot allow a precedent to be set where every Tom Dick and Sally thinks they can sue the company or negotiate for a better severance and win. It isn't going to happen.

If you're fired for bringing representation and as much is verbally said w/ a witness or better yet its written...you will win that case all day long. That said these aren't dumb people, they will act like nothing happened and a month later youll be fired for unrelated nonsense.

Take the meeting w/out a rep BUT DONT SIGN ANYTHING they will pressure you be prepared for it... they may give you an ultimatum sign or else... turn it down if they fire you after the fact it looks really bad on their part. Gather all the papers and say you need a few days to go over some things, talk to the spouse, sleep on it, etc...Basically stall and have a lawyer that specializes in this sort of thing give you advice. Do it quick, they will know what you're doing

If youve done your homework and documentated all the ways AZ has wronged you over the years, violated laws, upper mgmt bad behaviour, or you have other sensitive knowledge carefully and in a non threatening way make it known. Everything comes down to a black/white equation and if you have anything of leverage and present it appropriately it can be worth many times over the $1k lawyer advice

Do yourself a favor pay a lawyer to look it over. Will take them 2-3 hours tops, take notes. Will cost you $1k tops. If you want them to draft something not needed but few hundred more.

HQ source here. This person has no clue what they are talking about. Listen closely fool. You can hire an attorney for advice but it will not alter the standard AZ approach. If they have evidence that you violated policy they will terminate you. If their evidence is weak then they may offer you a mutual separation. A mutual separation offer will have an expiration date after which you will be terminated for cause. They will never allow your attorney in a room with them or on the phone as your agent and they will never acknowledge them. It will be you meeting alone with them period.

A lawyer will not be able to solve your problem but they sure could make the situation worse. When AZ says that they caught you not working or faking calls or cheating on your expense or as in many case all of the above, what are you going to say? You may tell your lawyer that you know others who have done a lot worse and they weren't fired. And they will say, if you hire me I think we may have a case of discrimination particularly if you are a minority. Well good luck with that one in court. If you are caught then take the best deal AZ offers and move on with your life. Stop digging the hole deeper.

Theyve already plucked the low hanging fruit. Suddenly model employees w/ outstanding track records and reviews for a decade get setup and spit out. They want your retirement cost off the books. Remember your resume is toxic, AZ hasnt groomed you to succeed in fact its the opposite. You will be looked at like an old, unskilled, lazy, leech. Theyve painted the picture on these boards of how happy youll be when you leave and go earn your wage elsewhere. Not true it will end badly for you and your family. Huge pressure coming for price cuts, faster approval of generics and less expensive competition allowing mail order from other countries. The pipeline for new drugs is drying up, access is becoming impossible, and companies are merging to cut costs by reducing duplication of effort. How much longer do you think this job can last? I don't intend to stick around until all of my options are gone.
