This is SO true! It’s horrible actually. Basically see how much ass you can kiss and assign yourself to as many projects is really the vibe for promotion at Lilly. It’s not about performance. The hardest workers are the ones working behind the scenes that never get recognized because they don’t play the game. If you do work hard they only allot a certain amount of spots for certain promotion levels anyways, but if there is a manager in your manager’s pod and they don’t know you forget it. To have these people decide your fate instead of just being able to know the requirements for promotion and accomplishing those should be enough.Don't forget they also sit around in a circle while jerking each other discussing who should get promoted based on incomplete information and a 5 minute presentation.
Imagine working for a company where other managers talk shit about you and there whole purpose is to find flaws in your efforts and find ways to NOT get you promoted. Yeah, managers need to go. Fuck them
