Fate of the Managers

I saw a post in another thread about the managers. He/she brought up a great point. They mentioned more reps per manager.

I have a great relationship with my manager. Been with my manager for a long time. But I will say, managers create more problems than anything else, especially in my offices. Managers are unwelcome and makes interactions with the HCP extremely uncomfortable. Why do we need 2-3 field ride days once a month or every other month? Absolutely pointless and a waste of time and money. As nice as my manager is, my offices are extremely sick and tired of seeing him/her. If we are all truly business owners and "own our own dirt" then why do we have a constant distraction of someone breathing down our neck serval times a month with field rides, expense reports, pointless projects for promotion, daily conference calls for different champ roles, etc.

Holy shit! Are you really getting 2-3 field ride days a month?! Your manager must not trust you. I’ve had 3 field ride days this whole year!

Like my manager too. But completely useless in terms of their role. The customers do not want a stranger in their office and that’s what these managers are to them. And if they aren’t strangers to the office, they are tired of seeing them for the dog and pony show

NOBODY at Lilly has 2-3 field days per month?? Do you even work here?

Management is toast. Heard some BUs are going to report directly to AVPs!
Honestly speaking, BD's are a waste of 250k per year. They provide zero value other than the occasional observation of field rides. Why shouldn’t the reps get their information straight from the AVP? Why does the AVP need to relay info to a BD, then the BD to the TMs? Makes zero sense.

Yeah, reporting directly to the AVP sounds just fine until the AVP comes down for the field ride, and spends an entire day and a half with you.

I mean, who really cares is an avp rides with you. They were once reps, so they get it. They should know that we all have good days and bad days out in the field. I'd rather take an avp once a quarter or every 6 months, rather than a BD every other month. BDs are useless

I would too. My offices are sick of my manager coming in all the time. To the reps who have yours just show up for lunch and bounce are lucky.

why is my manager cool as a cucumber but every other manager in PC/Spec/Triumph nervous?
1) They are putting on a front and lying!
2) they are ready to leave anyway because they hate it here.
3) they have a good nest egg saved up and wouldn't mind an additional 6 months off of severance/unemployment payment

Management should be worried, and if they are not, see the 3 reasons above

Or they already have something lined up because they are young, DEI and protected.

Good. Managers need to go. Imagine paying someone 250k a year to approve expenses and forwarding messages from an AVP.
Don't forget they also sit around in a circle while jerking each other discussing who should get promoted based on incomplete information and a 5 minute presentation.

Imagine working for a company where other managers talk shit about you and there whole purpose is to find flaws in your efforts and find ways to NOT get you promoted. Yeah, managers need to go. Fuck them
