EPBU lack of samples

The contract was extended to 2014 so are you saying it ends this Christmas?
December 2013? which would be premature?

I think people are just voicing their opinions about the drastic changes that have happen over the past couple months with Merck and how they are effecting our contract. No one has actual evidence that it is going to end early. Just be aware thats all.

They aren't setting the EPBU to fail. This is simply a part in a series of steps to wind down the contract. Merck is shifting business plans and, while the EPBU was originally part of it, recent events at Merck has caused it to re-evaluate those plans. It may seem hard to believe, but things are winding down for this contract. Merck has already shut down two divisions internally and while it may seem plausible to keep a contract salesforce, there is a very strong opposition to it amongst the powers that be for reasons I cannot disclose here.

Can anyone please disclose what they know about this contract ending early. This is something I had planned on until dec 2014 . Serious replies. I hope dm are honest with us.

Our dm told us over a month ago that dulera samples were coming in jan 2014, we were also told that our jobs are pretty secure for now nd he felt it was good through spring but feels it will go through dec 2014. Nobody knows anything for sure.

We just got the VM that no Dulera this year. Crazy Cafepharma was spot on. Great maybe we really are getting laid off....

- hate to say it but I'll say it anyway: "Told you so..." The contract will not last to December 2014. Saying it will continue through the summer of 2014 is S-T-R-E-T-C-H-I-N-G it. Sorry. This is the new reality as far as this contract is concerned. Merck has changed business plans for 2014 based on recent setbacks and events and so this contract isn't part of the majority of those business plans anymore.

Don't get me wrong. It's not that Merck's leadership does not recognize the value this contract brings to the company. It does. It's been proven. There are still folks in the leadership that want this to continue, but the majority is convinced that ending this contract is "in the best interest" of the company.

Why would they end it? We are cheap labor, no cars, or bennies. CP is notorious for rumors. Y'all have been saying this since the start of the contract. Why is it different now?

Because Merck has an excess of reps. FDA didn't grant approval for two drugs. They are also under increasing pressure not to lay off anymore employees (at least for now).
