Everyone is looking desperately for exit doors. So much so, that managers from other companies are leery about interviewing you or hiring you. Olympus is really really fucking terrible.
 












This is obviously the RVP who is interviewing for the position.
RUN, don't walk in the other direction.
Ask any Olympus sales rep across the country what they think about their job, and they will say get the fuck out of this place. It's awful. They will say or do anything to hire folks right now. Things are in desperation mode right now at Olympus.

Honestly it’s a great gig, you really don’t do anything except get paid for all the EAM’s work.
The endoscopy account manger Discounts his/her capital sale so they can shoehorn the unwanted ET into the account. It’s a shell game that really pisses off the customer but it’s a win for the ET rep. Truthfully, there is NO need for an ET sales force (no offense)....the EAM’s do all the selling of capital and ET.

Apparently Wijas is a real doozy. Thinks micro-managing is the way to grow business. Hey Wijas, you do realize ET is a distant 3rd, if not 4th in market share and it’s not even close? So, keep micro-managing your RVPs and ETMs and running everyone off. You’ll slide behind ConMed...(and will lose your job, rightfully so)
I would run, not walk, from an ETM position. No $ and you’ll be micro-managed into the ground. What good are new products if you can’t get them into the IDN systems? (Here’s a softball solution for corporate contracts but they’ll screw that up too) Olympus is bottom of the barrel nowadays

VP “retired,” thank christ. a lot of useless people hanging around, some of upper management is starting to see the light. dead weight starting to finally get cut in sales, but this place will never be clean. neither will any other company though. inside info is that there are more “retirements” to come in other divisions, but they are still all about protecting their friends.

how are they bringing people in from BSC and STILL can’t figure out what BSC is doing? it’s the blind leading the blind around here. maybe part of the problem is they keep bringing in moron RVPs because they wrote a cheesy-ass book about sales that you can buy on amazon ::cough cough dean gould cough cough:: and others who can’t comprehend a damn thing about securing long-term business... if i WAS in sales here i’d have left a long time ago.
