EMSA OF THE FUTURE







It looks like EMSA, or whatever is left, will be fortified with more MDs and be a part of MRL.

The problem is that the Medical Doctors they are putting into these positions have MD titles but little substance. Physicians talk but can't do. What an interesting mess all in the name of scientific leadership.
 






edelman, keane, murray....same old bullshit!
so another formula for failure.

and the reasons are:
cannot integrate
do not have business sense
lack credibility and team work
not trustworthy
light weights as far as MRL is concerned
 


















I have been in EMSA for 2 years and I have to say this is the worse job experience. Kean (incompetent) and Murray (an ass) suck and are poor people managers they ought to be fired. Morale is so low.
 












These managers need a crash training program in code of conduct and ethics. And a how to course on managing people for Dummies.

Both Murray and Keane need "NON MD" people training for Dummies as they have double standards - MDs vs everyone else on their staff.

Despite bad "NON MD" people management skills, never saw either of them demonstrate lack of ethics.

Surprised no one on here has mentioned Harvey. Rich seems to have placed him as a buffer. Other than being a doctor what does Harvey know about managing people, developing and integrating scientific strategy, planning, developing & implementing multi channel education or developing strategically aligned professional society relationships?
 




































Wow he is a doctor and what does he bring to the AA?

Actually not much!

He's never led a large group of people.
Other than walking through an exhibit he knows nothing about managing and facilitating conventions and exhibits.
He's not a true field based leader yet he heads the CSL field group. He doesn't fully understand CME granting nor leveraging professional societies nor internet learning.

But, he is a doctor and this is EMSA, so doctor rules apply. Anyone playing by doctor rules has never been accused of being a good manager but in EMSA it doesn't matter.
 












Does it really matter what happens within EMSA when you have such poor leadership at the top. Who cares if Harvey, Richard, Bill or any other doc is chosen to run this unaccountable team of incompetent idiots. In the end once WHS realizes the waste of hundreds of millions of resources. This absurd embarassement will have to be globalized. Adam has no clue what is happening within EMSA.

If Adam has no idea on what's happening within EMSA then shame on him, its his job to know! He could easily discuss the value or lack thereof that you mention with heads within EMSA and with the marketing teams that support the activities. Are you saying the brand VPs that fund these activities are idiots and funding without accountability? Are you saying they don't undersand and funding without knowing the value?

Adam never understood things like CME and its no wonder, with his brother's reputation and livelihood heavily weighted to MSPE he didn't want to know! If you think globalization will help Adam understand you are the idiot!
 






The poster above brings up several good points.

It is absolutely Adam's job to get accountability and know the value that the funding stakeholders obviously receive and understand.

Adam's heart was always trying to save his brother and MSP&E. The field desperately tried to tell anyone who would listen that the MSP&E programs were a waste of money but no one would listen, certainly not Adam. Maybe we should be talking about nepotism as well as accountability.

Why do you think there was so much pressure on us to run these programs when we all knew they weren't well received. The numbers that were reported were a sham.
 






I just cannot take it anymore after 5 plus years in this motley department.
It is getting bad to worse in AA. It is all mirror work and spin control. This Harvey guy is a joke, he has no clue about what he is doing. Richard Murray is checked out and busy hiding and ducking from addressing any of the real problems.
And guess what, last week Murray is giving lectures @ MEDED meeting in Philadelphia on "conflict of interest"....what a joke of a presentation. As the saying goes.....don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.
 






so...if you do not like what you are doing and you don't respect who you work for.. then how do you get up and go to work and feel like you are contributing and earning a paycheck?

People can make a difference themselves... if you think for one minute the whole dept is dependent on what the head of the dept does or does not do... you are missing it.. maybe Murray has complete confidence in people like you to do the right things and right way. Don't blame the head of the dept for your behavior.. if EMSA was not considered critical to the business.. it would be gone..

People make up depts and people make a difference for their stakeholders... what do your stakeholders think of your contribution? Focus on being the best and remember your reputation is your own. Help Harvey and Rich to be successful.. that is your job.
