Ecat or New Devices

No one is buying anyone. The lawsuit would end with a settlement and cardionet will waste the the money. Mednet will hurt. I don't get how Mednet continue to pick up accounts in the west coast during this whole thing...

So true with the settlement/sale. Why not purchase more equipment, more capable cs reps and serious upper management positions. Learn to crawl prior to all those backwards steps

I very rarely even see Mednet around anymore. Last time I saw a proposal to a client they were offering rediculously low pricing for services. I always wondered how they could offer such low pricing and if it was even legal. I guess with everything being said about them it isn't surprising they are having issues.

Let's say this is true, what could mednet possibly bring to a table thats already broken? Do I need to remind you about ECG Scanning? What exactly did that purchase do? Why not go after some of the bigger fish in the sea rather than catching minnows? This ship is constantly fishing in shallow waters.

Simply just asking....I wonder what will happen to the employees that are still there.

Well, I guess that's that...

perhaps they should hire their employees more carefully . . . current and ex-employees mentioned directly and indirectly. the sister mentioned has "strong" relationship with top executive. Just another example of the absolute rottenness of this place.

will the mednet president and his first lady mentioned in the article & article comments stay in power? if so - shareholders may want to re-think their hold positions.

That's just what we need - low ball pricing to de-value our services even more. If you can't sell then you sell on price. We should not need to cut prices to stay competitive but it takes sales people with skill and understanding to win in tight situations.

Do you think Cn will utilize Mednet more than they did with ECG. I know Mednet has 2 testing lab locations, one is a non idtf lab.

Mednet accounts I've met with (medicare part b market) are getting an extremely low contract price from them on the non medicare tests -so they can bill globally and pocket some $$$- but then do a split bill on the medicare tests -so as to not violate the reporting of a purchased diagnostic test/anti-markup ruling.

Which all smacks of wrong doing (sunshine act). Mednet was on the verge of some serious problems when this event took place.

I've been saying this for years...how does Mednet get away with such low ffs pricing? Personally I cant even see how it was profitable for them. I have seen ffs pricing under $100 for a 30 day Event test! Under half of Medicare allowable, how does the DOJ go after everybody else and let this continue to take place? its crazy, this has to be a contributing factor in why re-imbursements continue to get cut for the rest of us.

not just mednet. pds had an account in rome ga that was a 100 ffs back in early 2000 when the mca was around 250. there are many cn accounts that were pds accounts doing the same thing.

classic example of kick back. giving to the docs = the low ffs price for the private pay pts so they can profit on the private tests - in exchange for getting = ability to bill directly to mc and collect the higher paying mca rate

I would almost guarantee that those fees are no longer in place. I remember PDS but I don't remember their service being built on low ffs accounts. Who knows, maybe they had a few. I guess ultimately low ffs service rates catch up with you. Mednet was going out of business and had to sell for well below market value.
