DynaSplint Systems

I work here now and I think it's a great company!! Yes, the base salary could definitely improve but they have made some positive changes thus far! New laptops, new inventory system, new blackberrys, intranet, etc.... It's what you make of it.

A real company would have gotten these things to thier sales force in the 80's not 2009. How's that company car working for you? Oh yeah Dynasplint doesn't offer a company car or mileage reinbursement, repairs, etc. Other cutting edge companies are getting voice activated message systems, integrated cars for sales, etc. Not to mention 401k matches $1 for $1, pensions, 4 weeks vacation, Christmas shutdown for 2 weeks paid, every minor and major holiday off with pay, entire sales force meetings in remote tropical locations, etc. And your going to toot Dynasplints horn saying they just got blackberrys and intranet? Oh boy, you better stay there because you don't stand a chance in the real world.

I wanted to jump in here for whoever is still reading this. Dynasplint is NOT a company you want to work for. No matter how they represent the company, all that is really cared about is the money. And the current operations manager is an asshole who would not last past a probationary period at any other company. Morale there is truly terrible, due to the fact that the current management rules by fear ( loss of job), not respect or true leadership.

I also worked for Dyna for a long time. I got out when the getting was good (sooner than later). They treat thier employees like crap and don't think anything of it. Their philosophy is "oh well we'll just get a replacement". No wonder why they have such high turnover. Last I heard it was around 80%.....yes you read correctly 80%. This equates to 8 out of 10 people leave the company. Oh, and another interesting stat is that most or all leave within 6 months. Check the posting boards they aren't expanding they are trying to fill all of thier open positions. Currently there are 25 open sales positions advertised on career builder. Out of the 125 total sales consultants having 25 open is 20% of thier sales force is non-existent. It's been that way for years and years as long as I could remember from working there. They are driving people away in droves and lose quality people all of the time. Once people get started with the company if they are smart they realize that it's twisted culture and screwed up attitude toward the reps isn't how a good company is run. And if you think that Dynasplint is a stepping stone think again. Other repuatable companies want to see real experience from a real company. Other medical equipment companies don't respect Dyansplint and rightfully so it's not a good company. So rather than having to expalin why you worked for Dynasplint it's better just to not have it on your resume. Heck my new manager told me he would have rather had used car salesman, copier sales, rental car salesman than Dynasplint on my resume. I'm glad he gave me a chance but Dynasplint on my resume didn't help one bit it actually hurt. Read the posts about the company and if you're smart you won't make the mistake that 8 out of 10 people did!!

Yeh, My numbers were down and I was expected to work the last holiday season........what a wonderful company!

Also, the 401k situation, when I was at corp, when the investment people came to explain the program, a rep asked what her thought of DSI's program, after a minute of silence, he said they were lucky to have one.........

I also worked for this company in the neuro division. And as stated above, I also found myself in comp I and compII surrounded by people with little or no clinical background. I do have clinical, and found that when I would interject with some very basic thoughts such as, when splinting, check for a distal pulse, it was brushed off as unimportant. These were geriatric patients with circulatory issues! It was more important to have a sales background! I thought during the first 3 mo's that I had it made and this was an incredible company to work for. The realization set in shortly after. The pressure is tremendous toward months end. My boyfriend called it "hell week". Fighting with insurance companies, and doctors to get signatures. And the mistakes made in approvals! There were so many times when I got the infamous "ok to fit", so I would fit, only to find out that something was overlooked, and I would recieve a phone call stating "the ins company has now said no coverage, or they are only approving 1 joint now.." so I would basically have to re-po the splint! In the end I had an accident while working, suffered a head injury, and reconstructive ankle surgery, and was let go while on work comp. Dynasplint didnt even back me up. They wanted me to market while I was in PT, and neuro appts for myself. How ironic! I am now with a wonderful company, making more $, and no hell week. Everything for a reason, I guess.

I am a patient that had used the Dynasplint for my achilles tendon for nine months....

I feel for you, but:

#1. You should never ever let someone else call your insurance company, unless it's someone in the doctor's office - that's YOUR responsibility. That rep had to have private information about you that you should not let a stranger have. There is no telling what else she'll do with the information.

#2. I simply would not pay the bill. Tell the collection agency to kiss your ass, and if they insist on harassing you, you will contact your lawyer and they can talk with him/her.

Dynasplint called my insurance company just like the doctor calls to get my benefits. Clearly you have never had medical care there is no other way to get it done.

It doesn't matter if Dynasplint calls your insurance company or not. The company knows they can't get paid for these devices so they lie to the patients and say they called and then all of the sudden the patient gets a bill. Dynasplint knows that once the patient signs the paperwork regardless of what the reps says the patient gets stuck paying. There is a clause in thier that says "patient is ultimately responsible for payment". This phrase lets Dynasplint come after the patients for full payment regardless of insurance mumbo jumbo. So when in doubt refuse a Dynasplint they will only come after you in the end for full payment!

It costs Dynasplint $100 to make a product that they RENT to you for $395. Some of the splints have been on thousands of patients and keep circulation around. All I can say is if I'm going to be charges for a product at top dollar I want a NEW one!!
The money that Dynasplint makes off the product is ridiculos. They need to pay the sales force better and maybe people would stay longer than 6 months. They make the splits for $200 or less and bill the insurance $395 per month rental. Then when the patient is done with it after 4 months they send it back. So Dynasplint pockets $1580. Then they wipe the splint off and rent it to another patient same deal $1580 or sometimes more depending on the rental term. Now if they have been around since 1981 and renting those same splints out they are taking advantage of the system. So let say a splint gets rented 3 times a year, thats $4740 a year times 29 years....they make $137,460 off one splint. $137,460 time however many splint they own...my calculator can't even hold that many numbers. So why do they send so many patients to collections for non-payment? They need to charge less and work with more patients. No wonder why our insurance in America is so expensive with companies like Dynasplint around!!

Be careful of this company and their reps.
They supply a product, come out and fit you and adjust you...then leave.
They do not inform you that the product has to be returned and is a monthly rental.
Which to me is kind of disgusting for a unit used on the body...but..whatever...
Anyway, they told me two different times I didn't have any new product coming then sent me a letter saying to return it or I "may" be charged...
Guess what....I was charged..300.00 plus.
I haven't even used the product since last year..if I had known i would have gladly returned it...
So, be careful out there...cause when you call them, they will not work with you in anyway...they just give you the well you signed the paper...pay up...and with an attitude...
Be careful and be sure to read everything and be sure your rep tells you everything or you could be out big bucks!!
Not a good customer service company.

I am a patient that had used the Dynasplint for my achilles tendon for nine months. When I first saw my doctor for my problem, he said that this thing called a Dynasplint could help. He said that he would have the rep, named Sarah, come in the next week and talk to me about it. When I went in and met the rep, my doctor and she said that it will help my problem and that she would contact my insurance company to see if I was covered. My doctor called me later in the week and told me that Sarah said my insurance would cover it 100% and she got me approved for coverage. And, that I should make an appointment to come in and get it fitted with the Dynasplint and get started with my treatment. I did. Nine months later Dynasplint wrote me a letter and said my insurance company was not paying the bills Dynasplint was sending them and if I could contact them. I did and my insurance company told me that Sarah, the Dynasplint rep, did not get approval and she did not follow the procedure to get approval. In fact, my insurance company told me that "the Dynasplint" was considered "experimental" and there was no proof that it helped anyone. And, if Sarah had filed the proper paperwork it would have been denied for that reason. They told me that she had never had contacted them at all. My insurance company told me that I needed to send in my doctors notes on my condition and they would review it and try and help. I did. Dynasplint did nothing. I did all the work and they have done nothing but try and get me to pay this bill. They asked me if I would request an appeal for my insurance company pay them. I did. My insurance company denied them again for the same reason. Dynasplint asked me if I would be willing to fill out paperwork and have the Medical Insurance Review Board review this and I did. The review board sided with my insurance company. It has been 3 1/2 years and they had a collection agency call me today. I have contacted an attorney. It seems Dynasplint has a scam going. They get patients to get a diagnosis from a doctor, sign paperwork saying they have been approved by their insurance company (when in fact they have not). And after a few months go by, they say their insurance is not paying so you have to. The catch is the patient has signed the paperwork. Dynasplint is a company that also scams it's patients and is committing insurance fraud. If anyone has any suggestions or stories to help my case please contact me at wetandsandy@gmail.com. I am so sick of them and life is to short to deal with something like this. My mom just passed away and I have better things to do with my life.
Thanks!

Dynasplints are often issued by salesfolks and company representatives who are NOT clinically qualified to appropriately identify the appropriate splint. Even when there is a remotely qualified individual issuing the product, customer service, follow-up, repair, and recovery of the splints is unbelievably POOR. Yet, that said, and given the lack of expertise by their representatives, the huge monthly rental bill for each splint goes on and on....long after a dynasplint (viewed as torture devices by many nurses and therapists) have been discarded to the bottom of a patients closet....and forgotten like a bad dream. Splints of this nature should be issued only with Dr's orders and with the collaboration of qualified Occupational Therapists/Assistants and Physical Therapists/Assistants. Inexperienced OT's and PT's should not be deferring issuance of such systems in the absence of their own clinical abilities. The devices require 2 hour checks for skin and joint integrity and comfort, and frequent reassessment as to their effectiveness. Dynasplints are as close to the definition of a "restraint" that I can think of...given that a large number of the patients receiving these devices are frail, cognitively impaired seniors who are unable to remove them at will....with long wearing scehdules imposed by salespeople who never come back...and who don't respond to customer service requests. This is another example of a company that is draining the Medicare system. Customer service is poor.....and the products are alarmingly overpriced and over-utilized. Dislike them immensely. (a therapy manager)

If I ever have a patient that needs help with ROM I call my dynasplint rep. she is awesome. I cant say enough great things about them.
Nice plug corporate! The only good things in this post comes from a person at the corporate level monitoring these boards. Trust me even most of the people at corporate hate it and can't wait to move on! This company is rotten from the core!
