Yes, people lose their incomes my friend all the time. What a friggin shock this must be to those who thought this gravy train would go on indefinitely. There are those who look to the future and saw this coming and made changes.
I doubt the severance package will suck for those who were let go either, it's highly likely that it was agreed that those let go would be well taken care of. As a matter of fact, many will likely be "placed" in the various open field positions should there be one in the neighborhood.
