Does anyone ever really think pharmaceutical sales is stressful?

If anyone is honest, it's very stressful because of the lack of transparency from higher level management regarding job security. It's never clear what is wanted and what makes a good rep that can feel secure in having employment. Some of that is to be expected in capitalism and will make me work hard, but it always feels sneaky and mysterious. That stress isn't helpful to anyone.

Very true.
Even the "numbers" they come up with are questionable.

And the higher up they are, the more corrupt they are.

If you have to do pharmaceutical sales, go with a small company!

Wow. This thread was a complete fabricated farce from people that clearly are not pharmaceutical sales reps. This is one of the most stressful jobs out there and you are only as good as your last numbers. None of the comments attesting it was a stressless job are completely fraudulent. Pharmaceutical sales is under a barrage of attacks. The sales forecasts are always unattainable. In addition a pharmaceutical sales rep deals with stressed out and over-worked customers on a daily basis. It is not the industry it once was. Sad to read this thread of lies.

its a terrible industry. let's all acknowledge that. and it is not getting any better. every year, it gets worse and worse.
smart people really have all left, as they would rather make less and have a better quality of life than this micromanaged mess.

The industry as a whole will likely be another fatality of the Kung Flu. A few companies like Roche that still bother with R & D will remain. the me-too gravy train will end & that’s the majority of the industry now. The King Flu requires survival of the fittest!!!!
