Ding dong the witch is...

It's a new company, did you expect anything else. The game has been figured out and the "good ole boys club" is being disbanded. This is something that I thought would never be done. A few greedy people ran this company for their own benefit. That game seems to be coming to an end. Some thought that everything would continue and we would be able to put the wool over their eyes. As they say, all good things end.

I will continue to work hard and do my job. It isn't as easy for some of us, comparatively speaking. It really makes we wonder sometimes. It seems that it is just the "dirty little secret"
 






The veil has been lifted ladies and gentlemen! A recruiter just informed me that the biorefeference folks are running scared! Jenga games only last for so long!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
 






There have been a lot of people leaving....some hospital reps, some WH reps, a GTS and a few management forced out.

It seems things have settled down now for "restructuring". I do like the direction GH is taking us, but there are just too many incompetent middle management to keep this thing moving forward.

So many managers working half time, the reps I talk with are concerned about the uncertainty and everyone is pulling the old Quest line of "keep your head down and keep quiet".

It is a good place with some great people, unfortunately people that call the shots are more interested in staying under the radar than making sure this place succeeds.

All these new hires will take quite a long while to acclimate and when you're talking about large territory volumes, management roles and having to expand others territories to cover departures I'm afraid it will lead to a downward spiral.

We have not exactly been the company that promotes, let alone a culture that has encouraged synergy. If they knew what was best for the company we would be promoting within, encouraging cross functional success (instead of faking it) and bring clarity to our communication and goals. I get that this is what GH is about and I commend him for this, but with so many "looking out for only themselves" I'm afraid it wont' get very far.

While I hope we thrive and grow, I feel we are turning into a mini LabCorp. Time will tell, but it is a pretty discerning time in this companies future. So many question marks and so few answers. (this is for the industry as a whole also.)
At least you get annual reviews and annual salary increases to know where you stand right??? Sorry, that would be a more respectful leadership that valued their employees!
 
























We will go the same way as every other laboratory acquisition. They all fail. We are not the same company that we were 10 years ago. Once again the people that said this would be great and help us grow, has screwed all, or should i say almost all. This place is sickening and I hope she sees a clear picture and her eyes are wide open.

In the old days everyone was scared to say or do anything. There were such mob like tactics. They scared you into keeping quiet. We were all scared and thought someone would come to your house in the middle of the night.
The only way to clean this place is fire all the old timers and start new. Does Opco really even care about the clinical business?

Not a joke at all. Plenty of employees there for 5, 10, 15 years who have never gotten a review and the raises are a joke. 25 cent raises are the norm and you're expected to be grateful. Yet, upper management are making over $100-$400k a year, some of them without college degrees. Now they're all scrambling to look busy and look good, throwing lower employees under the bus to OPKO because where else are you going to do minimal work and make $200k a year?
 












It's widely known Todd was the driver of the the copay and deductible write offs that are illegal. Back when EMR donations were done he would only do EMR donations purely based on the account sending business and based on how much business the account would send it was a total inducement to use Bio/GenPath. Even today with the rent payments to accounts and phlebs it is all driven by how much business the account will give not on the number of draws or necessity. OPKO will eventually figure it out and Todd will be also following the path of Howard and others.

I wonder how RF is managing to stay under the radar. They were all complicit in everything that went on there and sure reaped the benefits until OPKO showed up. Now we have to actually start behaving and working how companies should, which is great. The place has been run like a corner grocery store for years.

GH, haven't you heard enough from this thread? CT and the old school folks are WAY overpaid with some very questionable actions in their past. The people who are actually trying to make this a real endeavor are WAY underpaid (don't give me lip service as devil's advocate, salary pay here is not competitive-period). Without annual recognition and annual living increases, morale is tanking! Take care of the performing employees who are here/stay here due to what this company brings to the patients. Otherwise, I can't see OPKO gaining from the purchase of BioReference.
 






When you operate a company like the leaders did here, then sell to outsiders, it could never work. Everything that was done was to increase sales and profit. That is fine, but not the way it was done. Esoteric testing was where over 50 percent of the profit comes from. How could this be? This testing is being done like it is a CBC. How about all the panels? Are you going to tell me that all were signed by doctors so it is ok. And Scott does not give out illegal supplies to many of his accounts. Just go to the staff, they will show you what he gives. All you need to do is ask. Eventually when you upset people so much, and tyranny exists, you get what you deserve.

There are many good people in this company, hard working people who love this company. But there are a few individuals who exist for outsized profits regardless of where it comes from, how they get it, or what the true costs are. Some of these people are gone, but not all.
 
























Chuck wont ever go. too many managers to use as scapegoats. They will let a few of the managers go then bring some of the top reps into the positions and chew them up. Better be careful though since there are only a handful of reps that make the company run.
