LOL.
Didn't know CP was to be ruined. CP is the best form of free entertainment around. I bring truth, with a touch of entertainment, because most of you can't handle truth...
and the truth is, money is what you all worship. that is why I found you all so odd during meetings and everying.
I lost all respect when the drunks got promoted and the whores got manager jobs. So glad I left, but so happy CP is here...
its the best site on the web, bar none. better than youtube.
Hey mental boy, I see you are up to your old tricks on this thread as well.
For those reading, this got lost his pharma job and just couldn't get over it. His life started going into a tailspin and now he sits on this board making up silly things and acting like a lunatic. What he needs is help with his growing mental condition.
Hey big boy, my last contact with medical sales, I turned down a spot with a very good and stable mid size company in one of the best areas in the country. A FACT.
Left on my terms. And it was the right decision. ALL of my pharma. rep friends (with the exception of one friend working at Kowa, are not happy with their job.
Have fun the rest of your career!
Left on your own terms?????? SSSssssssssuuuuuurreeeeeee you did, mental boy........if it helps you to get over the mental stress.........now go get that help that you desperately need.

at least I am not going to hell in the afterlife, like you, and your ego, loser.
and yes, pharma. is for losers. nobody gets kicked out. those that stay are the most effeminate, corporate, and terrible people around...
you know, people like you with no talent to try something else.

Hi there mental boy. Clearly a nerve was struck and your having a hard time dealing with it. If it makes you feel better, we are always sad to see people like you get kick out of pharma. The downsizing has been tough on this industry.
We would like to help you out by throwing a few extra bucks in your tip jar so that you can buy yourself a new t-shirt and jeans at WalMart.
It is so sad to hear what whinny candy asses you all are. You act like this job is slavery, like there is no choice, like we forced into breaking big rocks into little rocks 80 hours a week. Pharmaceutical Sales has got to be one of the cushiest jobs in America, especially for the money. You want fulfillment get a hobby, volunteer, write a book, stop trying to find it at work. It's called work for a reason. Think that any of the unpleasentries of this job are unique to pharma think again. The is BS at every job, in every industry. Put on your big boy pants, do the job you are paid to do, stop looking for fulfillment in it and find fulfillment with your life...and no work is not you life, if it is that is your fault and if you long for a job that is your life than you should have made different decisions in HS and college on what you wanted to be when you grew up. Clearly a lot of you still haven't.
If wish more people approached this business like this. My mom worked 12 hour days as a seamstress and my dad worked at GM back when people still built cars. Talk about a hard, mindless and monotonous work day! Half hour lunch, two 15 minute breaks a day! Heck most drug reps have lunch paid for on most days, while they drive from office to office free to do whatever they want for the most part in between calls, yet all you hear them complain about is 'micro management'! You work with your boss 2 days a month if that! Most people in most white and blue collar jobs have their boss berating down their necks all day. Seriously what is so micromanaged about this business? That you have to put calls into a computer to document what you are doing? An expense report? A business plan every now and again? Sample inventory? Online compliance test? Realtors have to take more test and be licensed to sell a house. Yet we sell and sample prescription drugs and people complain about test, and certifications. Most of you would die if you actually had to work for a living! Try going into financial serves where you are judged daily on your performance with your boss hammering you for every mistake daily! If you think this job is stressful you are a very weak person and don't deserve a job like this.
Somewhat true.
The difference that you are overlooking is that we put the time and money into a college education, and should be treated more like professionals.
the other jobs you mentioned are for those that didn't have the mind to go to college or the guts to take out loans to make it happen.
still, you make sense, because the hardest job I ever had was when I was stocking shelves at Lion King.
Help me understand how you are treated in an unprofessional manner? Not trying to start a fight I really want to understand this POV as I just don't see it. Maybe I've been lucky and haven't had the jerk manager or toxic company. I have a lot of friends in the industry and clearly we talk about the good the bad and the ugly, but what is posted on here seems very far off the scale.
In terms of you college degree/being treated like a professional I'm not sure what you mean. Financial service jobs are all college grads and at the big firms they are from some of the best schools in the country. I started out in NY at a big firm before getting fed up and finding a job in pharma, and most of the people I worked with were Ivy League types. I can tell you this, being screamed at on a daily basis by your boss in front of your colleagues is common practice in financial services...still is. I have friends at Big 5 accounting firms in the city, all college grads, all CPA's and if they are not brining in big clients they are routinely screamed at, and shamed into working even more hours, etc.. The pressure and accountability was intense and daily. I have not once had anyone yell at me nor have I ever seen a colleague berated. Things I saw all the time in my prior life. Again I'm not saying that Pharma is all sunshine and rainbows but what I find is considered micromanagement or unprofessional or not being treated like an adult is merely tasks of the job that people dislike. i.e. call reporting, weekly reports, expense reports, useless meetings, useless conference calls, field visits, etc. BTW all things that happen in almost every other corporate outside sales job in any industry. College roommate of mine sells industrial chemicals for Dow and he and his manager work the territory together at least half the month. They are in a car for the entire week, staying in Best Western type motels eating at TGIF's and driving from account to account to talk to purchasing agents at current and prospective customers. Not very glamorous. I tell him about our meetings, the crazy hotels, the dinners, the 1-2 days we see our manager every 4-6 weeks and he laughs and tells me how good I have it. I don't disagree.
I think what is missing in this industry is perspective. You think doctors are any more a pains in the but to call on than biz to biz? Think that feeding the 'office cows' to get access sucks. My buddy at Dow has to basically bribe every secretary to even get a purchasing agent on the phone let alone a face to face. If he doesn't close the deal he doesn't get paid as unlike pharma most outside sales job are 30% base 70% commission versus pharma which is at least the inverse. Again I'm not saying pharma is perfect or the best job ever but what I'm saying is that most of the stuff people bitch about is not unique to pharma...it happens in every industry and in every job function.
Your line where you say you have never had a bad manager or worked for a bad company says it all.
No need to have a conversation with you on this.
I have been burned too many times to count in pharma. It is what it is. And, trust me, I love to work hard and get the job done, and never complain about the actual job.
Come back in 5 years or 10 years, and maybe your time will come. This industry is full of snakes.
but, if you are good where you are, then stay. don't think things are better elsewhere, because they are not. NEVER take more money with another company if your current situation is good.
Good luck.

dooshboy those fuckers getting yelled at THAT CAN HANDLE IT and perform are making MILIONS! You are some dooshy (spelling is correct) pharma omo making a max of 130 MAX! Do the taxes on the net! Driving a frigging Ford Fusion!
Are you 23 years old? WTF! YOU HAVE A GIRL JOB! For part time mommies.
LOL.

This statement is true. Sad but true. Myself and others brought integrity to the job, never ran the company tab up, honest on expense reporting, honest with samples, left to get a good night's rest at sales meetings after dinner - no promos, underhanded terminations. Those that did what's stated below-Queen and King DM. This was not a motivation for me at all. I just wanted to be left alone in my territory.
