Depomed

I never said forget novel, breakthrough therapies. A basic reality is that there are dozens of drugs that have gone or will go generic soon--that are of amazing benefit to people. If Depomed or anyone else can modify the delivery of these meds to either (a) make them more efficacious, or (b) minimize the side effect profile, then more power to them. Will some offer nominal benefit? Maybe- and if they do, then the medical profession will catch up and write the generic instead. Don't pretend for a minute that improvements can't be made. Acuform is an awesome technology, and will have a seat at the table. Let's all hope that pricing is reasonable and not shoot ourselves int e foot with managed care.

good luck to all

I think the decision has already been made to shoot the foot.

Are the DM's from Depomed or Inventiv. Do prior Inventiv reps have prioroty? What is the interiview process?

DM's are Depomed mangers. No inventiv reps do not have priority. You must have pain and or CNS experience and succesful launch experience.

Interview process is simple. Apply on line, complete a phone screen and interview with manager then interview with regional.

Good Luck.

Has the hiring process begun? Have CNS and launch experience and was referred by another Inventiv rep? Just sent resume last week as job was just posted in my area on July 10?

Is the above-referenced salary range for base or total compensation? These territories are enormous, so I would hope they take that into consideration. Are there any sales reps for this product that are Depomed employees or all CSO? Any mention of the responsibilities we will have ie: speaker programs? All contracts differ on that and that is another point to consider. I don't really want to be doing 2 or 3 night time speaker programs in a city 2.5 hours from my home for $58,000.

I jsut interviewed and I need advice.. I was with inventiv at 60k on a previous contract , they asked what my salary expectations were I said min 60 which I got on previous contract after talking further territory is huge and roles are responsibilites are more complex , going to meet face to face, if I do get offer could i push for more?

I want to get back to work but i didn't want to outprice myself now I'm thinking i underpriced myself , any advice????

Take as much base as you can, bonuses are going to be tough to achieve based on their strategy.

Most of the salary offers for CSO organizations are "take it or leave it" offers. There's too many qualified people out there for them to haggle with a rep regarding pay on a 1-3 year contract.

You can probe some to see if they'll give you more (be sure and put together a case as to WHY you are worth more) but don't give them an ultimatum because suddenly they'll start liking their #2 choice a whole lot more.

Isn't this sales?? Ask a probing question during the interview..Like "What is the starting salary range", "what is commission structure" what other SALES incentives is offered on this contract.ie President Club, award trips, CASH???? Geeezz, everyone talks BIG about their sales skills but they can't even sell themselves .

..just go into the interview and ask the DM for a quick signature for some copies of your resume and quietly step out- you'll be demonstrating all that is required for the job.

Are you capable of open probes, too? How about some good closing statements/questions. How about some good expamples of transitions from, say, benefits to what kind of car you get.

OMG, that's effing hilarious! A quick sig and quietly step out! So true about what a farce RX sales has become.
