Deceived

I have to say I feel a little deceived at this point. During the interview process I was told no call reporting, no big pharma crap, we know this is a marathon not a sprint, no pressure if your doing your job and the right things.

We are not even 2 months into the launch and I'm in big pharma hell! Micromanaged like never before, call reporting system is insane, account planning tool is a job justifier for someone, pressure like crazy from manager and area director. I have extensive hospital antibiotic experience and success and these people are way unrealistic and already making me (and others) regret my decision to come here.

Go ahead and call me a whinner and tell me to get out but when you go through and interview process and are told things and then everything is completely different that's the companies fault. Lots of people out there are saying they think they made a mistake and that's not a good way to start a company. Just saying.

WHINER!

Agree. All the SFA activities are not going to sell the product. Have ten years of antibiotics hospital and office based sales experience. These activities just take away focus on selling. We all do because we are told to do it.

The customers are saving it as a big gun when other drugs fail. We have no HEOR data for them to use it even as a second line. Cost is a big barrier; we are dealing with institutions where formulary reviews and generic usage are key drivers. Telling the sales team to report activities is not a solution. We got to get better publications out asap. Better contracting by managed markets and better messaging on cost base focus are important.

Doesn't surpirse me at all, considering one moron you guys have very high up the food chain. Sounds like after 10 years of moving over from primary care at another company, he still doesn't get it. Good luck.

Welcome to the real world of Pharma as it is today......just saying.....

You obviously have never worked for a start-up before, YOU IDIOT! Spoiled little brat! Leave the company then...get out of here. This company is great and they are doing everything possible to make it better and fix the problems. Dont come on cafe pharma and start bashing the company. If you have concerns then speak to your manager.

Ok. After you kissed and wiped the collect asses of management, you can go wash their toilets. Let the us sales reps share our thoughts.

Sorry but I have been to several start ups and agree with the op. Things are not quite what was promised during the interview phase. Some of the management team (seems more west than east) is already smothering their people. We were told this is a process and will take time in the begining but now it's how many new patients did you get today and how will you see the doc that no rep has seen in years.

The reality in a start up launch is that some people/hospitals come on board quickly and some othere can take years. Putting preasure on the reps after less than 2 months is not going to help morale or speed up the process.

As for having never worked at a start up before it's the big pharma people that have come here that are micro-managing and bringing the big pharma mentality into play. Those of us that have real start up experience know this is not how it should be done.

Worked for two start ups prior to this one. In a true start up, you are treated like a territory manager. DMs were there to help you develop business and not write reports or double check your expenses or check call boxes.

This selling process will lead to failure. We need to build relationships and sell. We are wasting time to cya for sales management, making certain marketing does not blame sales and manages care shows they provide access when sales does not meet forecast.

It goes back to leadership. Who is running the show?

Have you tried working with our co-promote partner? The local C**ist rep does nothing. I don't know why they even employ her. Our access is already bad enough, but there are offices and hospitals where I can't mention her name. And if I have to hear about her "vast experience selling a superior product..." another time from her, I will not be responsible for my actions.

This partnership $uck$.

FL manager has never managed, doesn't know how to lead. Has no clue about antibiotics. We are doomed.

Are you kidding me! The guy is making it happen! Has managed hospital sales teams as well as selling in the device world where real sales are made. Maybe your just uncomfortable knowing that he will make sure you are selling and not hiding behind your excuses. You should know better, this drug has a very good story. Just sell it. I don't think you know how lucky you are to have him as a manager.

He has great managing and leadership skills. Also VERY knowledgable with antibiotics. Have you ever managed? If you haven't then you shouldn't talk about stuff you know nothing about. Just be grateful you have a job!

Wow! This commercial team just started and already have morale problems. Not good! Good luck! Leadership must be weak...[/

It's not the "whole team" or "leadership" that's weak...... It's the ONE rotten apple in the bunch that is posting negativity towards the people and company that hired him/ her.
