Yes this is a good starter company.
They mostly hire right off college campuses.
The pay is low. Just do your time, try to get some things on your resume & then go get a better paying job with another company.
Lilly is a day care
I just couldn’t resist giving my 2 cents here!! I will share a quick story on how drinking the “RED LILLY KOOL-AID (Red Piss H2O)” will certainly get you no where real fast.. SMH.. I was once a Lilly rep and a pretty damned good one too I might add! Did all the extra crapola (projects, mentoring & of course ass kissing) to climb that “Red Lilly Ladder”. Got the promotions & the silly plaques/trophies too… I actually remember touting that I had worked so long & done so well for Lilly, that I was going to be a Lilly-Lifer and had no plans to leave/retire in the future.
Then came the disaster w/ Alex Azar and missing the Alzheimer’s indication.
Just like that, it was over! So, of course I was pissed at first, but it only took about 2 months to land another pharma gig.
I will leave out my new company’s name, but the point is that I am so damned thankful that the AA Shit-Show happened and forced me out the door!
I now hold a very similar type of role/level that I held at Lilly. While my new company has its issues, it does not have all the BS/Propaganda!!!!!!
The reason I felt that way about leaving Lilly I found out very quickly, was because Lilly had done a really good job of making me believe a DAMN LIE!!!
What I mean by that is all the propaganda I was exposed to during all the district meeting where the DM slide whips everyone with how well compensated on both salary/bonuses as compared to other pharma peers… TOTAL HORSESHIT!!!
I started my new career with a 10k base pay raise, upgraded vehicle and a yearly bonus that is targeted at 60k. Coming up on my 5th year now and I have averaged about 70k a year in bonuses with another 28k in base pay on top of the 10k that I got from coming on board. So that’s 38k increase in base and I have plenty of room for increases unlike what I was told at Lilly with already being in the top end of the Executive Rep Scale BS.. SMH
Oh, almost forgot! I never get asked for more without special incentives and the last thing I really missed from my Lilly benefits was the amount of vacation I had stacked up after all those years at Lilly…
Well my company fixed that too recently, so I am as a happy as a rep could ever be!
My only regret in leaving Lilly was all the great people I used work w/ for so long, but many left w/ me or have transitioned out to much less toxic working environments.
Best of luck to you all, and I truly do mean that as I still hold a significant amount of Lilly stock! Great drugs, just absolutely horrible “People Skills” leadership with that Canadian D-Bag Ricks!!!
He has only cared about Wall Street and it shows with his the lack of morality/respect for people…
