The only reason that Kevan got hired as the VP of Sales at Kala is because Mark and Kevan used to work closely together at AstraZeneca. Kevan had never had the role of VP of Sales at any previous company before Kala and was really unqualified especially in Ophthalmology. Mark sits on the board of several companies and really could care less about the people in all of the organizations he represents. He only cares about the numbers and blames the sales force when they are not meeting aggressive growth expectations. He is barely present to the organization except for investor calls and does nothing to help the sales organization to be successful. But, think about it…why would he care? Even if the company turns out to be an epic failure like Kala he will still get paid millions and get padded with a golden parachute. And then so on and so forth! He will just do it all over again with another promising Biotech.

It’s true! Napoleon (Mark) and Freddy Krueger (Kevan) used to play grab a$$ at A$$traZeneca. They have been in bed together for a while. They have always been willing to reach out and give each other a helping hand! ;)

It will be interesting to see which unassuming company they will poison and destroy next.

This. This is the exact and complete reason for the failure of Kala. It is all on Kevan’s shoulders. Unqualified. Uninformed. Unwilling to listened to all of the amazing people from eyecare. Hope he never gets another job. He is a disaster
 






This company was set up to fail from the get go, stated it all promising with the launch of Inveltys.... as a team we had so much fun. No call metrics, just go out and get the business, people were making money, management actually listened to the field, shit got done! Then there was the launch of Eysuvis... A complete disaster.
They no longer listened to the field, they did not take the advice of seasoned reps in dry eye who told them what they needed to do in order to make this successful because they had experience. They made the sample too big, scripts rx was a complete disaster. Such an absolute embarrassment

He promised us that a solution was on the horizon for Medicare patients then weaseled his way to the Hawaii Award trip. He came back home and bailed on Kala immediately. Great hire Kevan! Way to really vet your Area Director candidates. Brent really sold you on his relationships in the industry then he took complete advantage of you and used Kala as a stopgap to land a better gig. He couldn’t get out of here fast enough! Just another example of your constant poor choices and mistakes.

His no experience replacement did nothing either. Nobody ever hears from him.
 






Can someone explain why upper mgmt has just now submitted a proposal to the board determine if they'll pay us a severence? Shouldn't that have been worked out by now? BEFORE OR DURING when the deal went through?
WE are the reason you all get paid! WE sell the product, WE have the relationships with the doctors, WE deal with the headaches of office and the patient getting product, WE deal with all the BS. WE KEEP THE LIGHTS ON!
BUT it's been 3 weeks (could be another 3 weeks until they meet) and yet the field knows nothing!

Many of us have offers already. We are just waiting it out. No need to be nasty, we are all a bit disenchanted by this whole situation. Don't tell others how to feel. This board is for venting we are doing that. They aren't saying anything that isn't true.

I’m sure nobody is discounting the fact that this situation sucks for everyone. Nobody said otherwise, the post you are b*tching about never made that assumption...they are simply stating a fact.
Fact, we don’t know anything.
Fact, it could be another three weeks until we do know something.
Fact, many people are irritated by this.
Fact, it is unsettling to think we may not get a severence at all after all the time some have been here l.
What is YOUR problem? Are you so well off and so well connected that everything is all lined up for you already and you don't need to worry about how you will pay your bills? Because I'm sure we all know who you are the fact that you kiss a$$ more than anyone here! The fact that nobody likes you and talks behind your back!
Sometimes people need an outlet to vent, sometimes people just want to be pissed off! Worry about yourself! FF sake have a little empathy, maybe a little compassion, and get off your high horse. Not everybody wants to be Mr. Rogers everyday!

I agree with Mr. Rogers and Jim. With just the right attitude and mindset we can still make Kala a Word Class Organization! There is still time!

When you are up against the ropes and your company is considered a penny stock and the board decided to sell its 2 main assets…that’s when you can show some true grit and fighting spirit. Now let’s get out there with our new sales aids and show the world what we are made of! Let’s do it for all of the Executives and Senior Leadership that completely gave up on us!
