Company Cars-Joke

Come on now. A Prius with heated seats is only going to cost you $4,300.
I think Hospira is truly looking out for us. They always tell us how great we are, I think this is an exceptional offer.

Just so you all know you all have Kevin Braun Sr. Acct Exec(Area N)to thank for this. At a meeting he suggested this to SeanO. Seems that SeanO had asked how reps felt about the Prius (as if he didn't know). Then Kevin Braun (who wants to be a DM in the worst way) said why not let the reps pay to get a better car. Thanks Kevin instead of just saying the reps don't like the Prius because the seats do not support, and the reps don't feel safe in them, you gave good old SeanO a new way to screw us. We pay for the upgrade then they get rid of the car at a higher price and reap the profits. Why don't the DMs and ADs get Prius???? Oh I forgot their backs and lives are worth more.

So you know, we all have Kevin Braun Sr. Rep area N to thank for this . At a Sr. Advisory board meeting SeanO asked the group how the reps felt about the Prius. Instead of just telling SeanO that the reps didn't like the Prius because they felt it was not a safe car and that the seats were horrible (unsupportive backaches etc). He suggested to SeanO that the company just let us reps pay for a better car. What a great idea Kevin!
Now if you are desperate enough or stupid enough to pay for an upgrade when the company trades the car in they will reap the profits from the reps.

HMMM - wonder why the DMs and ADs don't drive a Prius I guess their backs and lives are worth more than the reps.
Also seems funny to me that the company uses green as the reason behind using the Prius - I guess DMs and ADs are naturally more environmentally friendly than reps.

I am surprised that no one has been killed in a Prius wreck yet. I step into it every day knowing that if I am in a significant crash that I am screwed. The Prius is too small an unsafe. It is evident that Hospira does not care about our safety.

Everyone is getting new cars - I don't know how I could afford that.

Everyone??? Even those who only have a few thousand miles on their Prius?

Honestly, I would pay to upgrade. I don't feel safe in the Prius. The Prius would work wonders if you never drove over 40mph and had a 8-10mile commute but it just doesn't work as a fleet car with lots of driving. I can't even imagine driving it in snowy areas.

Pretty ballsy and lame to call Kevin out by name on Cafe Pharma. Whether he did that or not, he's a good dude and I bet you wouldn't have the balls to tell him what you thought in person.

Good point ballsy and lame- but also pretty self serving of the person who gave Sean the idea, I feel like I was sold out a little. I don't know if I can afford to upgrade with no bonus to speak of coming in and also so close to holiday season. Also is it right then to name Sean or Wes Juda and others but make others immune based on position. I guess you could find people out there who would say Sean is a "good dude".

Let's see..his wife, his kids, his parents, and 1 or 2 of his college pals....maybe. That's the complete list.

You have a great point, BUT....no one wants to jeopardize his/her job by confronting a manager. Truth is truth no matter how it's delivered. That's the problem with the world today, lie, cheat and steal to get ahead and stay in power; there's no room for the truth anymore. Anyone who actually tells it like it is will be banished, blamed, and/or fired.

If the day ever comes...and it never will.....that anyone who speaks the verifiable truth is immune to any retaliation, this lousy world would change for the better. So, if the shoe fits Kevin......

The corporate kiss-ass game has been with us since the dawn of time and will remain with us forever. As an old mentor once told me, as long as you kiss the ass and miss the hole, all is well.

You can almost always position it in such a way that someone like Sean would not take offense, he most likely won't listen too well either because as almost all management here only wants to be told how great their ideas are. A simple "since you asked Sean what I am hearing from the field is that they feel very uncomfortable in the Prius both from a safety and a physical standpoint" and then just leave it at that, knowing that Sean has been hearing this since we brought the Prius in. This tells me that Sean thought it might be a serious issue or he would have never brought it up. Does that mean Sean cares, NO, it just means he saw a potential for losing some good people, and Hospira is bleeding talent.

Too bad he isn't one of the "bleeds". Poster child for the consummate a-kisser.

thanks for listening to us alright-Here is your options-Take the Prius AGAIN or PAY for something else.WTF-Hate this place

Reality: the car is certainly cheaper than buying/leasing on your own.
We all know that the reason we're getting the Prius is to save money...on the car and gas. Remember Project Fuel, Turbocharging...whatever...
CR rates the car as one of the safest "Family sedans". (For who? Little people?) I'd love to see some real-world crash data.

My questions:
1. Who negotiates the prices for the leases? He/She needs more training in negotiations. That is if we actually put the cars out for bids. Think there may be a little "kick-back" to someone?
2. Why are we driving only foreign cars? Many hybrids to choose from from America. See above.
