company car pro or con if they charge us

A company car is the way to go!

No comparison..........insurance, tires, maintenance, cost of car!

I want a company car again!!!!

I guess you don't realize that the government allows .55 cents per mile,so do the math.Multiply your number of miles driven per year times .55,subtract the car allowance and gas allowance, and the rest is written off your taxes as a business expense. It is a big tax write-off!Also,the car allowance and gas reimbursement are tax-free!No way do I want a company car!

NO NO NO - I have a late model car that I purchased after a RIF and now has too much wear and tear/mileage due to Touchpoint contract to sell without a loss. It would sit in the garage and collect dust while I have $300 less (after tax?) in my paycheck. And I would still have to pay insurance registration and keep it running since I know my employment can end at a moments notice. Again, no thanks...but my guess is that like most corporations, this one will do what benefits their bottom line, not mine.

This is a pathetic way to work. Scrambling for a lousy little pittance of profit to put away for the next car purchase, tires and the insurance bill...The rep deal at these places is a joke. We need to be paid as professionals with an income you can live on and put a little away. And be issued a company issued car instead of destroying the family car. None of that exists here. PSS seems to be one of the cheapest paying contractors around. High level professional reps paid identical to low level hack reps, 5K is no distinction!! Bush league at best and a not a long term job anyone with strong resume. A real bummer to be stuck here...

Hey moron, if you were employable with a real company you would not have to work here. This is the bottom of the barrel in pharma. You never noticed that? Use your car, get paid next to nothing whatever. It does not matter. This os the best you can get. PSS treats you like shit because you are shit. People like you are desperate for any job. Accept it and shut your yap.

Hey, I know double and triple VP winners out of work 2 years! Are they losers. Nope, none of us are.

...its the Obama economy and the flooded job market stupid. It takes at least 1-2 months for every 10K of salary to find a job at equal par to good job (AKA good pay and benefits and car).

If you haven't experienced this....your time will come!

There are many many quality employees here. It does beat being unemployed but they should re consider paying the flex timers on EPBU better. They are stretched and paid so much lower than the merck reps.

If they were half way decent they would not have to work here. Get over yourself. You are lucky to be getting a paycheck.

how much? why aren't all cso reps paid as much as them? AZ contract is the cheapest around, no money, no car and high turnover due the crap pay.

Be sure that you trade in your used car for a really nice BMW or a higher end Mercedes. Some managers are only satisfied with excellence and want to be chauffeured. You want to ensure their ultimate comfort as the client. Don't worry so much about your physicians and their needs, but do embrace all of the insecurities that are exhibited from them and address their issues accordingly. Remember that they're a really big fucking deal!

This OP is accurate.Through the information listed above,I almost paid off my new car in the first year!Just think what a nice car you can get JUST on the tax-free $600 car allowance???Don't believe ask any tax accountant!

That only applies if your itemize. If you take the standard deduction on your taxes, you lose this money. You NEVER see it. Paying 19 cents a mile is crap. And the $600 a month is not making me any money because I bought a vehicle upfront. By the time you add in depreciation for the thousands of miles you drive each month, insurance, oil changes, tires, and maintenance etc, you are not "making a lot of money". The people that are not working, not putting miles on their vehicle, and not buying gas, those are the people whining about going to a company vehicle.

In reality, the problem is that they need to up the 19 cents a mile. Then it would be more fair. The wear and tear on larger territories would get more money to pay for repairs and offset depreciation.

The payments and insurance is a few hundred each every month, then it tires, brakes, oil changes and the list goes on. The $600 is just ok if you are using your car...but you are not making money by an stretch....it destroys a good car.

Not true. I work hard. I do not want a company car. The reasons are I will still keep my car which. Means I will still have to pay for maint, insurance , etc on my vehicle. I think 300 a month is too much for part time.my paycheck would be smaller and I do not need an extra car.
