Company car payment

Let's take the Amgen route, my neighbor drives a new fleet Volvo xc40 P8 AWD fully loaded electric car. She tells me they also have other all electric choices such as VW is pro s. No Teslas as there aren't government rebates anymore for those. To be fair, she stated these are offered to managers and above but will be deployed to the reps soon.

Everyone wins, we go carbon neutral, get a government rebate of $7500 per car, and like Amgen, use the loophole where there is NO personal mileage charged. Not to mention the ev bumper stickers for hov lanes and toll roads, helloooo more calls home office. Amgen installed home chargers so you can expense your electric via a separate meter. The Feds offer so many ev perks, come on.

Take a look next time you are in a clinic parking lot, yeah, that's the Amgen person parking in a free charging spot right in front of the building, no walking a mile with samples from an overflow lot. They also get fast charger cards they can swipe if they get in a bind. It's basically 4 wheels sitting on top of a massive battery, no waiting around for oil changes and maintainence.

I'm taking my findings straight to our fleet department pronto. This is an overall win win. Have you seen the various ev's out for 2022? I assure you we have come along way from the prissy Prius and Nippon Leaf, there are sweet rides big and small.

As a new hire I was given 3 choices at different payments. Subaru Ascent, Subaru Outback or Rav4. 2 options were used. I think I read that a Volvo x40 was an option if you were getting to order new in 2022.

I wasn't given an option for a Volvo. We need a bigger car option. I'd pay more from my monthly pay check to drive a car that works better for a family.

Don't believe the carbon neutral lie. How does the majority of electricity get produced in this country?

The CAR is carbon neutral (EV) because while driving it doesn’t produce carbon.

Carbon neutral isn’t a lie because it’s about the application. You can make an application carbon neutral. That doesn’t mean everything ever is going to be carbon neutral. This is not what is meant when we say carbon neutral. It’s about reducing the load on the planet in various sectors where it can make a difference. Everyone owns a car. Going carbon neutral in that sector will make an impact on our air quality. Producing batteries for EV cars doesn’t even come close to the level of pollution of millions of daily driven combustion engine cars.

The car runs off a battery. That battery needs to be charged. How is the majority of the electricity used to charge your battery produced? You're putting a strain on one source of energy and the grid. Let's pretend something were to happen to the grid. Now what?

Who cares? We will all be dead before any of this matters and before some other holier than thou comes up with save the earth BS. Once upon a time, it was acid rain....don't hear that anymore, right?

The plants love the extra CO2.

Most people live in a house. Most people desire that plush green lawn. They go to extremes of applying all types of chemicals and waste water (which those chemicals end up in) trying to achieve the perfect lawn. Let's pretend everyone moves to a carbon neutral car, and the "extra" CO2 is removed from the atmosphere. Now, those plants will become less efficient, and they will require more resources applied to them to achieve the homeowners' desired aesthetic appeal. In other words, your bullshit car hasn't achieved anything. I'd argue that your batteries are doing more harm than good.

Symbiosis.
