Company Car or Car Allowance?

Tree
Go ahead, make yourself feel better about your subtherapeutic compensation. After all, at least you have a job, right?

Bah-ha-HA!

Wow! Life must be really tough for you. Trolling a company board that rejected you ripping on their car allowance. An allowance you will never get. Sad little fella! How do you end your posts....Bah-ha-HA? Is that right, Sparky? Get your mom to make you a grilled cheese sandwich and tell you how special you are. Hope that helps and you can keep the stool sample.

I find most companies that require their reps to buy their own car are usually start up biotechs that pay far more base/bonus with stock options than the generic Ford Taurus company car big Pharma company. Their mileage/monthly comp for their car usually has the rep in a Lexus or BMW. All in all, a better deal.

This is really the truth. I came from a biotech and it sure beats the Primary Care big pharma douche companies that pay shit wages and track your every mood.

if your making a decision based on company car or car allowance then you got way too far in the interview process. every single rep at alkermes makes more then you big pharma reps with your target bonus of 28K! thats a laugher! how anyone could complain with over $1000 plus a month for a vehicle of their choice a game changer makes no sense to me.
go back to your pharma site and complain about your sample reconciliation reports!

Kudos ! Here Here ! I second that motion. Dumb ass pussy big pharma reps expecting handouts and cluster selling so they don't have to do anything. They just depend on their cluster mates. So sad and definitely this job isn't for them. They're not capable of doing a job without some big pharma douchebag telling them what to do.

A lot of assumptions especially from the same poster giving them self kudos & here here accolades. Doesn't change the fact that cheap companies give car allowances. You can take your sarcasm and ram it right up your pie hole. No sale ass face.

"No sale ass face"? Wow, you are obviously smart and tough. Hope that helps!

The problem with your post is you assume everyone posting here in from Big Pharma. Ignorance at its best!

I am not from big pharma but was laid off from a small biotech with a HUGE territory and diminished QOL where my base salary was probably equal to your total comp here. Yes they gave us company cars Volvos S40s to be exact so there are other folks who come on this board and post their thoughts. You presume everyone is from big pharma since it fits into your bashing and you don't have to actually think about your posts. Speaks to the watered down quality of people working here. Ta ta!

We understand you. You can't handle complicated decisions, like which car to purchase. It's just too hard for you.

Reimbursement allows you to buy any car you want. If you want a Volvo S40, then go buy one.

Your obsession with a single unimportant aspect of a broad and very good employment package illustrates your personal and professional immaturity, and your limited brain power.

And have some dignity and stick by your word. When you say, "ta ta!" to indicate that you are done with this conversation, then be done with it. Stop posting on this subject, there's nothing more for you to say.

I worked in big pharma and small pharma and all three of my prior companies offered a company car. Always crappy cars with little selection. Since coming here a little over a year ago, I LOVE having the base car allowance and the variable mileage component. Averages exactly $1,281 per month for me. This gives us flexibility to choose the cars we want. I can buy a kick ass car and still cover my gas, insurance, maintenance and upkeep and drive the car I want and like. I can also buy a used or cheap new car and actually make money on the deal. The care allowance is not taxed. Who in the hell would want a company car and the crappy company car choices that come with that.

From someone who has had co cars for 15 years before I came here, believe me when I say the allowance is much much better.

Having worked at Genentech years ago, they have a sweet car allowance program = $650/ month & mileage at current federal reimbursement rate (which was .56/mile last time I checked). Covering a territory with 40K miles a year, you can make good $ and pay off a better than fleet level vehicle which you can own outright in 2 years resulting in a higher mileage vehicle which you didn't pay a penny for and which is still worth something, especially if you have teens getting ready to get their license and first car.

I was curious where a person who would post "Ta ta" would be from. The demographic search i learned was that it was a 77% chance it would come from a female but i believe the poster here is not, it also shown that the person, regardless of sex, would be from the southeast plus texas. i also researched that of the 23% male possibility for such a comment, that there is a 15% chance that male wishes he was female or may express themselves best with the same gender. Nothing wrong with that but it does explain things.

WOW ! What's next? Liar liar pants on fire? Obviously, you've never worked for small biotech's which explains why you're a dumbshit. The difference is I have. and I have for over 10 years and have had a car allowance for those 10 + years and loved it. Do you really enjoy driving around in a fucked up Chevy Malibu? Really? I drive an Acura MDX now and before that had an Volvo XC60. You can continue to love driving that piece of shit company car if you want, but I choose to pick cars that I want to drive. I'm in my car most of the day and its my office. So, why not get a nice car to drive around in? For fuktards like yourself who like to have things spoon fed to ya including what car to drive, this may not be the right fit for ya.... I like to have choice and I usually end up making money on the deal per month. Your stupid assumptions make me laugh by claiming companies are cheap by paying a car allowance..Really? They put their money where it belongs - In our base salaries and bonus.

No sale ass face? Try 3 President's awards and top 15% every year with my current company. Please do us all a favor and don't interview for this job. You're a lazy ass bitch who complains every time the wind blows your hair outta place...Metro. Live with that...

Lots of defensive words. You may need a break from your great job.

Never had to drive a Malibu . I Have worked for small and big companies and win awards. I've also never worked for a cheap ass company with only car allowances. I can guarantee that your salary is not improved by getting a car allowance. In fact, it's likely less as you don't get the perks of the company car. Good luck ass face.

Who can win an argument with someone that uses the term "ass face"? You win!
