Commission percentages to be reduced for new pay plan

This is going to be an awkward sales meeting where the sales reps all pretend they aren’t interviewing and the sales managers pretend they still believe in the comp plan and the leadership celebrate how they were the only ones who didn’t take a massive pay cut

Because if they didn’t no one would work for this dumpster fire division . The single use scopes are the worst on the market . So bad you can’t even say they suck! tion

What? Under the 'new' comp plan almost everyone has a guarantee (base salary) plus commission on bookings over 60%. Why single out airway? This is pretty much company wide you idiot.

Base salary and guarantee are not the same thing, you idiot. A guarantee is money ON TOP of the base salary. As in GUARANTEED $5k per month for 6 months ON TOP of the commission if by some miracle commission is possible.
 



















The market is shifting toward single use, so lowering the quota reflects that.

Also, if it’s like an older guarantee, it replaces any commission that the new hires would have been paid during the guarantee.

Can anybody tell me who actually leads the company besides Patrick Furtaw and Kevin Reagan. Two individuals who loathe sales people leading a sales org is how we got here, regardless of covid-19.

Heard numerous more top producer names put in notice and rumors of several more.

The comp plan is based on growth . They did this to cap the reps with huge volume . The glory days are over. If you want to make as much as someone selling half as much as you do welcome aboard .

This company is unrecognizable versus 20 years ago. They no longer value the flow of information from physician end users to design engineers, at least not the USA authorized subsidiary of the company. What this means is that all USA marketing positions should just be eliminated since they aren't relevant at all.

For most divisions you don’t get commission on the first 60% of your quota sales, and then it’s based on growth for the 40%. After than part of the pay is trimmed based on the price you sell at.

it’s a tough plan to be selling capital on. If you do have a great year the following year you will service all the accounts you sold for free while hustling to sell 15-20-% for the same pay.

This is spot on! In fact, the consultants brought in by Furtaw et al. are the same group that developed and commoditized Medtronic and Boston Scientific’s. Note that both are primarily disposable companies not capital. This was done to spread the wealth and take the teeth out of the sales force. It has worked but at a cost that hasn’t 100% been realized. It no longer pays to work hard around Karl Storz. It has become just another medical device job where average pay and corporate “yes” men/women call the shots.
