Class Action Lawsuit

Apparently, something big is brewing. Stay tuned!

A PST in California is suing the company for not allowing her to take breaks and forcing her to work unpaid overtime. She's trying to get it authorized as a class action suit. The woman has a point. It's been an issue for years and people are getting tired of it. If you run a one-person PSC you are expected to keep it open for 8 hrs with no extra time for breaks or paperwork or the janitorial shit we get stuck doing. http://www.law360.com/classaction/articles/533511/labcorp-slapped-with-calif-ot-class-action

And don't forget to mention at a certain California lab that certain employees are allowed to take their PLB any time they want it and have no problem getting approved for PLB for any and all holidays or being off on the same days as other employees. However, the policy for everyone else in the department is "only one person off at a time," saying that the policy comes from HR. This makes it impossible for all employees to be able to use their earned PLB for the year.

All other labs shift work to other labs or call in Per Diem's to take up any slack. WTF.

California is about to have many class action lawsuits. Those NC folks don't know the laws here. Cutting corners and staff will make you bleed and suffer. It's coming from many different folks.

If this is the same lab where a request for earned PLB cannot be submitted if it is for time off more than 6 months in advance, making it almost impossible to plan vacations, family or otherwise (unless you are one of those chosen few who can take time off any time), ... heard about it!

What dumb ass is doing this kind of stuff? And what is wrong with your HR?

Go take a look at the openings for PSTs in California right now. Who's in charge of hiring these folks? Tons of open positions which proves they're short staffed. The upper management in Phleb is an unorganized mess trying to cover each other. NC needs to take a look at this women club and clean house....and maybe a PSC or two. IPA's bring dirty footprints to the PSC's. PPO folks would rather go green with Quest. Much cleaner with wait times posted on a screen and not soiled ridden carpets and chairs. Clean up your act LCA and fill those PST positions

We are hiring because we just signed a big IPA contract and need more Phelbs. Do you work for Quest!? LOL! Sorry but those "dirty" IPA's pay our bills.

The same thing happens in AZ. They are always understaffed, making vacations impossible to plan. You know how it goes, if the GM 's bottom lime looks good, then he gets his big bonus. They always promise to hire more people, then make up some excuse why they can't.

Don't forget to mention that you can not take your earned PLB, because LabCrap does not have enough staff to cover.

This blows. Are you saying that this is all done by design in order to help the bottom line? Keep the pawns fighting over time off until they realize who is really screwing them. Figures.

It's all about short term gain as to why LabCorp will slowly sink into the Pacific. Leadership wants to look good now rather than investing into the new healthcare environment. These pawns controlled predominantly by women protect each other while calling the shots. Zero foresight. They need to stop thinking they're king and queens and listen to the pawns. We know what's really going on. NC needs to know that these folks should be on the next bus down to TJ.

It was MEN running the West that got us in this mess in the first place. Now that some women are running things it is better. When we acquired Westcliff we also acquired their PSC's and since they could not afford to remodel that is why there were some PSC's that were not so great. We have closed many or remodeled them. We have also opened lots of beautiful PSC's recently. I have been in Quest's and they are just as nice. It would we nice if any of you throwing stones can give me a PSC location of ours that is in poor condition? A street name?? If not then stop speaking in general terms and by the way poor and middle class people need healthcare too. I find your remarks offensive. You Quest people need to go back on your own board and try to spread your negativity over there. FYI: I get my blood drawn every 3 months and I have never seen little kids running around, etc. all the PSC's I go to have been nice. If we do have any left from previous management they are in the process of either being remodeled or closed.
