Can Genentech get any worse?

Who in their right mind would stay at this dumpster fire? I'm giving my notice next week and thrilled to be getting out of here. Genentech is now the laughing stock of the industry. Very sad as once was the envy.

The beginning of the end actually started a few years ago. I took the package immediately with zero hesitation. I landed a new job before my last day in a good company with a little bit less. With my max severance and sign-on bonus, I still make more in the next 10 years and with my mortgage paid off. I really cannot complain! I do miss the old Genentech where I made so many life-long friends in 18 years. It breaks my heart to watch how these new wannabe leaders moved in and ruin a great company. I really wish we did a better job finding a better successor when Art moved on.

Absolutely!

Genentech has passed its prime. It has seen its best days years ago. Unfortunately this company will not get better. Nor will it return to any resemblance of what we once embraced as long as the current leaders remain. It is understandable. The external environment is also different now. It started with the previous leaders who became complacent and arrogant. They fell asleep on R&D and other crucial strategies. Our competitors seized on our hubristic culture. However, the last nail to the coffin is when they put these under-qualified and politically driven operatives on this transformation project that ultimately led to this disastrous CEoF fiasco. These clowns in SSF, and Basel, will never be able to dig themselves out of this hole. Let's be honest to ourselves, these people don't even know what they don't know. They are so lost that it is painful and comical to watch their incompetence. When they cannot even acknowledge their own mistakes, that's when you know you are on board the Titanic.

It can not get any worse. We at at the bottom, but let me ask you to lean in and embrace this culture of incompetence. Open your mind set to falsely identify with a bunch of empty talking heads.Misguided diversity exclusion of talent continues to shape this predominantly female ego-system. My plan for 2021 is to smile, say “yes” and marvel at the stupidity of the selected visionaries.

You sound like a male chauvinist pig. Now wonder this company is going to hell. The men making decisions can't stand to share any power unless it's for themselves. You are deplorable and you probably know it.

Can Genentech get any worse?

I think the question should be whether Genentech is even a viable place for a moral and grounded person to work at these days, especially when you are a man. The work environment has become so toxic and downright hostile if you are not a progressive leftist with a twisted reality. I have always been a moderate democrat and a fan of our former woman leaders such as J Cook and S Horning. They were just smart leaders. However, putting all these under-qualified women with a political agenda in charge is just a terrible idea. Where is our patient/people culture? The disastrous work environment they created internally is unbearable to watch. This once respected company has surely lost its way and become an irrelevant player in our industry because of this talent-less, ill-advised and misinformed management team. My retirement next month cannot come in a better timing. I am grateful for a great career here . It had been a great ride until the last few years. The only regret I have is that I joined an awesome company and have to leave a train wreck behind decades later. Best of luck to all of you. Maybe the better days will come when this leadership team leaves.

Genentech is such a shit company now. Nancy Oaks and her posse laid off great reps in a COVID environment and replaced them with new reps that fit their Black Lives Matter narrative. They call this "Customer Engagement of the Future." More like Customer Disengagement of the Future! Disgusting. Such poor leadership and lack of care for the people that built Genentech. This entire roll-out was the worst example of leadership I have ever witnessed in my lifetime. So glad to be out of this Hell Hole.

Who is worse? Nancy or Phoni Faucett? They both seem to pick the bottom of the barrel for their supposed leadership positions.

Wow, a tough race to the bottom indeed. Both have the personality and intellect of a turkey. They have to pick the worst. How else are they going to find an audience for their idiotic schemes?
