Bye bye Sumitomo









Are more cuts going to happen and when do people think the next possible round of cuts may hit?

It is surprising how many employees don’t look at the public earnings report.
 
















Everyone should do themselves a favor. Go to the Sumotomo web site and look at the video report on the latest quarterly report, Oct. 31. Myfembree, Orgovyx, and Gemtessa are way behind plan. They blame North America for all of their woes. If you wait until the end ( a little over an hour), where q&a starts, the CEO is very evasive about what they are going to do about the situation, or their Plan B. You have to believe something is going to happen here in North America within the next 3-6 months. Watch it and see what you think.
 












There has been NO real communication about what is actually going on from leadership. It is like they are shuffling things around at the top and giving out new titles with a lot of executive leadership that cannot be necessary. Cut all those positions in half and have responsibility for more than one product?
How can they be shocked that sales are flat or not where expected when there are very apathetic vp. They don’t seem to know what is going on. Our promotional materials are lacking and the middle managers are way out of date on what this industry requires.

Typical Sumitomo playback…trigger WARN act second week of January. 60 day notice to employees. Let Aptiom sales for go…consolidate Gemtesa sales force. Reduce everything else by 30-40%. Legal and HR already did the DEI checks. Everyone being let go has already been chosen. Close out FY23 with huge losses. Start FY24 fresh with new low forecasts for products.

Thank leadership for the gift that keeps on giving…poor leadership, me too products, too many leaders, no vision. Etc.
