Buyout?

Yes, they let 75% of the Scottsdale office go today and asked them not to come back.

Asked them not to come back? Incorrect. There were several employees at HW that learned their fate but no one was sent packing that moment. While there are several people that will have their last day this Friday - I would anticipate that quite a few of those har working support team members will receive call back as Contractors before their severence checks have cleared. Valeant is the WalMart of Pharma Companies and no one in this situation is fooled. Good luck trying to live up to the Medicis reputation and integrity and care that their support staff provided. Best of luck to the Valeant team and best wishes to the Medicis employees!!

They are all incredibly miserable people. What happens when you sell your soul to the devil. Money can't buy happiness or genuine respect from others. Can't fail more at life than that ..

Disgusting comments about JS. He fought for his employees. He could take half the sales force with him if he started a new company. I am a top performing rep and would follow him anywhere as would many of my colleagues. He is getting a lot of money for selling a $2.6 billion company he started and ran for 25 years without ever having a layoff- why is that an issue?

1) He did start a new company already, called Tiger Moon, don't know anything about it yet, apparently neither do you.
2) He has had layoffs, learn you Medicis history (Ralph Bohrer and his assist Bebe when they sold Ascent Pediatrics is one example)
3) The issue is how it came to be; JS suffered a personal tradgedy 1.5 yrs ago, it sent Medicis into a vulnerable place with low stock/sinking reputation. Instead of stepping down as CEO and allowing someone with a more positive public image (like MP) to step up it began the process of this buyout. The ripples in a pond reach very far indeed.....that is the issue.
4) The buyout made all Sales related, Executive, and few chumps rich- no one else.

1) If his company is in pharma and needs a sales people- others, like myself will follow. It is a fact.
2) People have been laid off because they didn't get the job done or meet expectations. There has never been a mass layoff where they fired people from all parts of the business because times were tough.
3) Read the proxy. They have been trying to sell it for years. There is a board of directors for a reason- he doesn't make these decisions alone and they could have fired him if they wanted to.
4) A lot of people made a lot of money from this. In all areas of the business.

We can argue but will get no where- we all have different information. I just want it on record that I am a 15+ year employee and have no complaints.

Medicis is top notch when it comes to treating employees, customers and doctors with respect, unlike others who do not know the meaning of respect. Sad to see the change. Medicis and JS have class!
