Buyout?

The good ol' boys, as you term them, are gonna get stinkin rich. It's the reps and lower level people who will take it in the ass. That's the way it works in corporate America.

Montreal-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. is continuing its buying spree as it makes its 15th acquisition this year with a $2.6 billion (U.S.) offer for Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp.

The purchase is part of Valeant’s strategy to focus on dermatological products.

The deal, which has already been approved unanimously by the boards of directors of both companies, needs sign-off from Medicis shareholders. Valeant has secured financing for 100 per cent of the transaction value from J.P. Morgan Chase Bank.

Medicis reps have super large territories to cover so don't believe the hype I doubt any positions will be cut. What will be cut though will be the larger than life bonuses that are paid. Pay will be more like Allergan with mediocre base salaries and sub par/par bonuses .

That's an optimistic view.

Reality is, the bottom performers will be laid off. Most likely at least half of the sale force.

Hope you have a good severance package built into the deal.

The Valeant deal is a done deal. No need to muddy the waters with other buyout rumors, idiots. Speculation time is over. Now, it is time to prepare for the change. With the world economy set to spiral out of control over the next 18 months, you do not want to be facing unemployment. It will be FEMA camps for you.
