BioOnc Fire Sale sponsored by

I hear they are already talking about making make Avastin territories larger and cutting one person. REALLY??? That would be good for everyone to see. Get out if you can, save yourselves. I even heard they were looking at a small Tecentriq workforce. This is crazy. We just made some bad changes surely they wouldn't do this again now. Call ZS...
Give Bill a call. I’m sure he’ll be transparent on head count moving forward

5 sales and marketing job posted in the US, 3 are for clinical coordinators and none for sales. That is loyalty.

Actually there are 3 Lucentis positions open in New England and upstate NY, been open since last fall. No one wants to work there or for the New England manager. Everyone is thinking they’ll be absorbed into neighboring territories

Last I checked, Lucentis is not part of BioOnc. Regardless, the jobs you referenced are not posted externally so if they get filled it will be with displaced Esbriet reps or maybe LGI.

Now a grand total of 6 sales and marketing jobs posted for US. 4 Clinical Coordinators, and 2 HQ manager roles

Now a grand total of 7 sales and marketing jobs posted for US. 4 Clinical Coordinators, 2 HQ manager roles, and 1 intern. Guess they’re going to push product info out through Flatiron EMR.

Using gene.com isn’t the best way to gauge “openings” since that’s only the external postings. There are a bunch that are open but that are only available to internal candidates...

Well actually it is if you’re measuring growth. If only internal candidates are being hired for open positions then net headcount is either unchanged or is in decline.

Also, doesn’t it seem odd that all open sales rep positions are only being made available to internal candidates? How does that work, do employees in Chicago for example apply for an open sales rep job there?

When companies are growing they have to recruit external talent to keep up their growth.

Open positions are still being offered to the "displaced" employees who were given notice. Every few weeks HR sends out an email to the employees who were let go and have not found a position outside of Genentech. Unfortunately there aren't that many positions available at Genentech in the field, and the positions that are available are spoken for and have a preferred candidate waiting. The job is merely posted as it is a legal requirement for Genentech to offer it to others even though management and HR knows who will get hired.

I get it, open positions are being filled by people who were let go. That means there's no growth in employment. Not a good sign.

Thats the way it is, always been and always will be. Someone once termed the phrase “seat filler”. Seems fitting.

I hear that there are three retina positions in the northeast still open. Apparently there is no one internally or recently displaced interested. What does that say about there being someone already identified for openings??

Maybe, but those positions were not listed on the email the displaced employees received this week. Only 2 positions listed and they were for OCC's, not sales.
