bio-therapeutics

I was wondering the same thing. Recently contacted by a recruiter for this and was told it is a new division and they are looking to hire 50+ reps nationwide.

From what I can tell looks like SN bought this line from Healhpoint and is trying to relaunch some older products. Claims of massive growth, huge pipeline etc. etc.

Can you share anything the recruiter said regarding comp etc.? Are you in wound care currently?

$65 - $85K base, car. Did not have many details on the commission plan, but I would think it would be in the $25 - $50K upside.

When pressed for where you would be spending most of your time, it was deferred to the next step in the process, but sounded 75/25 split alt. sit / acute.

This division seems to be just as dysfunctional as the rest of the company. I had been considering making a serious run at this job, but the lack of information from both an outside and inside recruiter is quite disturbing.

Come on folks, these products are not that difficult and have been around for quite some time. Your pipeline does't mean shit until the products are approved and added to reimbursement schedules / contracts. Pathetic.

Currently a rep but looking to leave. My base is 85k. At plan bonus puts you at ~135k. Give you car, expense acct, phone, etc. Run very much like a pharma company. Some OR but most existing business is in wound care centers. Lot of competition. 50 some products to compete against. Things are changing now as S&N is becoming more integrated into the original Healthpoint culture. Bonus structure is super confusing/don't know you're not making money until it's too late. Payments are delayed due to reporting. Don't get our 2Q bonus checks for another week or two. What else you need to know?

Yes, have to enter calls. Say it's to figure out what top reps are doing but we all know better. Breakfast and lunch is encouraged everyday. Not realistic though. We have a car now but there has been talk that's going away. We're the only division w/in S&N that gets one. Think everyone else is on an allowance. Culture is quick to decide if they like you. I'm in good shape but others have been shunned from very early on. Make a quick impact and that's all they remember.

Things are changing too b/c of the AWD group that lost Renasys. They are pushing Oasis now w/ us and not sure how that looks moving forward. Have been saying we'll get more in the bag but reimbursement changes delayed that. I like the reps, think they are really great across the board, but the money just isn't as advertised.

Currently in pharma, but I have someone in the division helping me out. First of all, let me say thank you. You posted a serious and informative post that is helpful, sincere, and honest. I very much appreciate that. I know no place is perfect, just trying to get experience and I will bust my ass for a good job because that's how I am.

Can I ask a general area in the country you work at with how many years experience? Just trying to get a more accurate idea based on location/experience. I'm used to late bonuses as it is. I won't get Q2 until end of Sept anyway. That's if it's on time. And I know about tons of competition. Anything you could think of that would help separate someone from the avg applicant? And how do you feel about the stability of the position/company?

Thanks again for your sincere help. It is much appreciated. This board needs more people like you.

This division is like a pharma job not a device job. You call on doctor offices and nursing homes. When you do call on a hospital it is their wound care department not the OR. You are tracked similar to a pharma job with the same catering (breakfast/lunch) expectations as a pharma job.

Ok previous employee to help balance and set the record straight. Biotherapeutics has two sales forces. One sells Santyl and Regranex to long term care facilities, nursing homes, and hospital pharmacy (referred to as TMs). Then there is the Oasis group called (ATTMs). Both get expenses, car, bases between $65-$85k depending on experience. Both have to log in calls daily which get monitored and they both get paid quarterly due to delay in data. Both positions are treated like pharma, but Santyl is more so. Don't fall into hype with Oasis that it is an OR position. They cannot make up their mind about about whether they want to focus on OR or the wound centers. This has been a problem for years. They are a wannabe surgical company that will never be. Also, don't allow the Oasis side to sell you on a product called 802. It is a long way a away from being released and you have no guarantee that you will even have it in your bag. They are selling futures!

Ok, here is the good.... They are fun like pharma. They like to do a lot of sales spiffs. They love to recognize top performers. You can earn up to $200k but that is maybe the top 5 reps on each salesforce. They also do awesome incentive trips which are top notch. You get all expenses paid, including your car, cell phone, iPad, and computer. The 401k and employee stock purchase plan is TOP NOTCH!

Like anything else in life, and working for any company, you need to pick what is most important to you and your family.

Hope this helps!

Much obliged. I really appreciate your help and input. I agree That it all depends on what's going on in your life, and this may be the perfect opportunity for someone.

I just had a phone screen and the opportunity sounded good. I was told the biggest area to grow was OR. I am in pharma now and I know so much is placed on call volume not really selling . Is that the same here?
