Being forced to room with someone at meetings is so degrading and dehumanizing

NEWS FLASH- not having a job and trying to find one is far worse than rooming with a stranger. If you don't agree, quit. Please, quit. And look for a new job. Trust me, NOBODY will miss you. Your impact on sales is so limited that you are just a number.

Reading the posts on this thread leads me to believe the people who post do not appreciate what they have. At some point in their lives (when they have a far worse job, making less money and with more issues than rooming with someone they don't like twice a year), they will look back and realize how dumb they were complaining about this nonsense when it was the best job they ever had. I wonder if CP will still be around so they can post on the Lost Civilization thread what fools they were! Enjoy the job and perks while you have it my friends. Think about it when you laying on the beach, out on the boat, at the gym, picking up your kids, or getting laid in a motel(not with your spouse), all on company time!! Yea-I see the light bulb going off on top of your head-"maybe I shouldn't complain so much". Enjoy the summer.

I remember sharing rooms... Back during the Clinton administration...

Either get promoted or stay in good standing and become a Master. The green jacket may be cheesy but I get to bang bar sluts in my room at every meeting... Certainly makes dealing with the monotony of canned sales presentations and formulary access grids a lot more tolerable.

Thanks to our many violations in the past, it hasn't been a sales job in over a decade. Medical Legal teams review marketing messages and materials, and we can't swerve to the left or to the right of what is the sanctioned approved detail.

That aint selling, my friend. That's 1:1 marketing. The fact that it happens in sample closets or in hallways and last about 45 seconds further distances what we do from what true salespeople do.

I just need to hang on another 8 years, then I'm set for life.

Sounds like you're already "doing life." Why wait? Right, that almighty dorrah!

M-m-m-morons like yourself are one of the multitude of reasons that this job, if you can really call it that, is going away. You and your marketing garbage are of no value to physicians or the staff. It's all about you and getting yours, isn't friend?

Is your rant about Pharma jobs or rooming with someone? The thread is about complaining about roommates. I like the job....not sure what the hostility is for. BTW-I'm not in marketing-I'm in sales. Start another thread about marketing and I'm sure you will have plenty of posts in a short time. Enjoy your week-it's going to be nice....have to remember to pack my towel and bathing suit. Enjoying it while I can, not thinking about a roommate at my next meeting.

My rant, as you put it, was about neither. It was in response to another post. Context escapes most people these days as they want to believe that everything is capable of surviving in a vacuum. Good Selling!

The post you responded to was about people who complain about rooming with others at meetings rather than enjoying the cake job it has become. You sound like someone not in the industry who hates drug reps. Don't worry-it will be gone soon and you can enjoy what healthcare is becoming. Have a nice day.

I had a roomate once who sniffed my underwear when I was pretending to sleep!

What part of the country are you people from. I can't believe half the stuff I read on this thread. If this stuff happened to me I would be talking to my DM first thing the next morning and if did nothing HR right after that. My DM even hated putting snorers with non snorers and worked with other district's DMs to room them together. He wouldn't stand for this crap.

OMG! What a little priss you are - - - crying to your DM. I hope you are my roommate so I can stuff my used panties down your mouth!

I think I speak for everyone at this company when I say that this is something that is just reprehensible. Not just at training, but at regional meetings as well. Nothing says "f-this" like flying into NY from the west coast, getting to the compound at 11PM and opening the door to find a complete stranger snoring away in his underwear.

I've even asked to pay for my own fucking room with a personal card and they won't let me do it! Think about that- a place of business turning down profit just to keep us cooped up with other co-workers and not having a single minute of personal time or space!!

Is this seriously a cost cutting move or just some behavioral science initiative attempting to make us more submissive and beaten than we already are? Somebody should sue their asses for emotional stress or violation of privacy or sexual discrimination. I'm willing to try it. I'll just have to document the fact that they won't let me get my own room when that place has a couple hundred vacancies in it and I'm willing to pay for my own.

"Watch out for the cornhole, man." (Office Space)

Okay, so let's discuss rooming with another adult at a meeting then. Are you for it? Then you are M&M. Otherwise, you would like to have some space to yourself. I personally find rooming with others to be degrading as well. Why? Because I don't get to choose who I room with and I have had some great ones and some nightmare ones. Either way, it wasn't my choice. Get it? As a child, people chose for you. As an adult, you should get to choose for yourself. Even if that means that I pay for my own room. Ahh, but the corporate lackeys hate that for some idiotic reason. Perhaps it's because they feel like they are losing some control over your mind. Perhaps it's because they KNOW that you are an independent thinker. So, there you have it. A rant about rooming with a disgusting person that you have no connection with other than working for the same pyramid scheme of an industry.

You work for a company that always had two-to-a-room policy on meetings, changed the policy for a few years, and recently went back to the way it always was. Whine to mommy all you want, it aint gonna change, just because YOU want it to. Didn't your day care center ever teach you that?

Regardless, by this time next year around 33% of you self-entitled, sissy-mary, whining brats will soon find out how good you had it. Wander over to one of the contract sales company sites, and ask them what their accommodations are like for meetings.
