why such secrecy around why we cant produce ligasure and trocars? I'm tired of delivering the "Resin Shortage" BS to my customers, they see right through it. Where are we making these products anyway? My manager has zero answers...

Probably making in them in the same countries as all other sell out companies…China and Malaysia both with great human rights record and not utilizing slave labor.

with the new MIP tied to market share, wait till the employees in these divisions see how they get hit this year - first missing revenue but then missing share gain goals because of ops/supply out of their control - they will feel like they were on commission but didn't know it.

MDT will still handout the MIP even if all metrics are missed, albeit with some haircut. Too afraid of a peasant revolt from withholding MIP.

Medtronic went so woke/broke that they outsourced everything as opposed to manufacturing it themselves. Relying on a ton of third party vendors to ship products overseas and then Kit them has proved to be disastrous. Literally cancelling surgeries due to inadequate supply and the marketing leaders appointed for diversity reasons are out of touch and have clearly never carried a bag of products

Seriously, management doesn't give two shits if the peasants revolt. They know (unfortunately) that there are morons in line waiting to work for this company. Dumbasses.

It's not just the "peasants", management will revolt too if they don't get their MIP. Watch, you'll get MIP, but with a haircut. They won't just say "no MIP".

BINGO

Supply chain SOLD OUT for a few pennies on the dollar. Cost are nearly equal and back orders are going to cause lost revenue.

great job!

And they don't care.. as long as they have pronouns and a pride flag next to their name, they're bulletproof.

You’re all feeling the impact, not just of China, but a very complex plastics/resin supply chain affected by the following: early Covid (reduction of demand forecasted, thus plants limited their output), mid/late 2020 Covid (home improvement picks up, new home construction, demand skyrockets) 2021 Texas Freeze (pipes burst at refining facilities at unprecedented levels, reducing supply dramatically), coupled with increase demand for your products at hospitals and the entire supply chain wanted safety stock (hoarding), and continued demand outside of medical for these same resins (home building, home reno, consumer goods, etc).
The Texas freeze impact cannot be glossed over as it there are a lot of precursor steps to the refining process and it takes more time than expected to restart the lengthy process.

Worst I've ever seen it in the field. Customers want answers and field sales reps and DM's don't have any. Management has been saying for years they're working on new initiatives to solve the backorder issues, but no improvements ever happen. Then the supply chain crisis made a chronic backorder issue much worse.

How funny is it that somehow "woke" or some other catch phrase always makes its way into these threads? Parrots. Nah, it's not a cult.
