AZ Contract

What??? Do they want people to fail, or what? I seriously doubt that they really want to have to rehire someone unless the person is just horrible and has no idea what they are doing. Also, the hiring managers butts are on the line to have hired people they know can get through it. My two cents...

They video tape you while you are doing your simulation as well as video tape you (they told us after the fact) while you are in the room with your peers watching the rep do his/her sim. Also, they video tape you while you are getting feedback from your trainer/dm about your simulation so the whole time you are in that fake doctors office at the top of the az building just smile and act like you care about what they are telling you. Someone is always watching. They WILL send you home if you don't do your detail exactly like they tell you word for word.
Just do what they say and you'll be fine.

This is absolutley spot on, although not sure about them taping you in the room while you watch your peers. I'm not doubting that, but I do know for a fact they wil video tape you during your "sales presentation" and if they don't like something, they WILL send you home. Loike this poster said, just do what they tell you to do/say and you will be fine.

Do reps get completely freaked out by this? I, for one, know I will be a nervous wreck. It's not about thinking I can't do it, it's just added pressure to think about at the end of a long week. BUT, I am beyond grateful for this opportunity!!!! :)

I am on another contract with az and heard the same comments about training. Seriously it was not bad at all....yes they are very scripted so just follow the script..word for word...its memorizing. congrats...i have been on my contract almost five months. great manager....small territory...only setback a kind of shitty call list but hey you got the job and like you i too was very grateful!

You have to sell popcorn... it's easy. Just use the usually selling format. Opener, probing, features/benefits, objections, close for business.

Easy, but sad and embarrassing. I remember when this profession was professional. Now we're role playing selling popcorn. Geez. Well, I better go brush up on my popcorn lingo!

I agree with you. I have over 14 years of sales success. With multiple P clubs and a stack of awards an inch thick. Now it all comes down to if I can sell a bag of microwave popcorn. I used to love being a pharma rep. Now we are not much more than a joke. I just can't beg someone for a 10 month long CSO job. If this is what it has come to in this industry it's time to get off the bus and move on to something else. Good luck everyone. Last one out of the industry don't forget to turn the lights off.

this is true; I was called last week for a last minute interview, "back fill" territory (the rep left suddenly) and when I questioned the time left on this contract, I was told exactly that.

The Crestor contract will likely be renewed. Many AZ reps who were selling Crestor were laid off this week. OCEAN sales team was hired last Sept to replace some AZ reps as layoff was looming. AZ needs Publicis OCEAN team to sell Crestor and battle generics. Most of them are very experienced reps with key relationships.

When the OCEAN contract went for training, did you all have to share a room?
I don't mind sharing rooms for meetings, but for training, I need space... time to unwind by myself with all the training stress. Did you all go to Delaware to AZ's headquarters? And how was the training... besides the SIM- did you have to do homework at night? Or could you just go out to dinner with new training buds? Thanks
