Authorized Generic

Unless it says brand necessary, the pharmacist can dispense the AG if the plan will pay for it.

Emphasis on IF. Quit trying to stir shit up. Majority of plans do NOT cover it. And those plans that do have it going through in some form are starting to realize the financial mistake they and are removing or blocking it completely.

What plans have realized they made a “mistake” and reversed their coverage “blocked” it? Do tell?

There are too many health plans, and too many different scenarios to make it this black-and-white. Only time will tell, and only hindsight 20/20. Stay optimistic, but don’t believe everything BI tells you.

plans have 6 months to review it. Calm yourself.

would be great if reps gave Jardiance as much focus as they are giving to a fucking authorized generic. Which isn’t even an actual generic. And has crap for formulary coverage.

focus people. Keep eyes on the prize and ignore the fucking distractions.

if the AG is doing better in your geography than Jardiance, you should worry. There is ZERO reason it does better except for the AZ rep working harder than you are. Even if it did have same coverage as Farxiga brand (it doesn’t) it still would have worse coverage than Jardiance.

and yet with a high degree of certainty, Jardiance is covered in a preferred position on the overwhelming majority of those health plan formularies. Yet we are so focused on a small handful of plans where AG is covered (for now) instead of discussing Jardiance efficacy and coverage.

You are the one who sounds worried? You must really need your job. Big mortgage?

Once again, The bigger issue and strategy from AZ is to inform the HCP's that there is a generic for farxiga and misleadingly know that it will not be covered and knowing then that the pharmacy will automatically give them the brand name that will be covered. Kind of a "bait and switch tactic". And remember all HCP's that see both old and young patients love to hear the word "generic".

IF you are right, you get to come back and tell everyone ‘I told you so’. You sound like a know-it-all, control freak. We all have to wait it out. Take your PTO and relax before you have a stroke. There is a life outside of BI.

Ok, 6 months to review it and formularies change in 10 months. This is the future?
Sounds great if you plan on retirement in 12-18 months!

and when the doctor brings it up, make sure they know it’s not a generic in the traditional sense. That even if it’s covered it will likely be same price or more expensive than Jardiance.

Commercial formulary can change any time. Medicare formularies changes are announced in mid October and officially change January 1st.

the finances still do not support a Commercial or Medicare plan adding the AG to any formulary position. Same for Medicaid. And with the IRA, the government will never go for the AG when they can squeeze AZ for an even lower MFP with Farxiga brand.

The question remains. What is the goal of AZ? They are in it to make money and already have 20,000 Rx nationally.

Use your brain. Every Rx that goes from branded Fx to the AG is more profitable for AZ. Plain and simple. There is a discount on the AG but it is at least half as much as the rebate they would pay for the branded fill.
